My other PCs with Internet Explorer 6 will open web based PDF files just fine. The default program in the file options is set to Adobe 6 Std to open PDF files. I switched the application to Adobe Reader 7 to test any differences and the browser still crashes. Adobe will open any locally stored PDF files just fine; only while trying to open web PDF in IE6 crashes this browser.

Any ideas what to look for?

I personnally use Firefox, but these others are company computers and (unfortunately) I am mandated to run IE on them. IE7 I believe is still Beta and not for some of the technilogicallly challeged induviduals I have to work with. I am not afraid to open the case on a PC or load software, so they made me the IT guy...but this one has got me stumped. One PC out of forty and this one has to give me fits.

i had a very similar problem with acrobat, and it had EVERYONE stumped, im mildly techinical, i was stumped, i have some really good IT people, they were stumped, and we tried EVERYTHING we could possibly think of to fix the problem. eventually we were so obsessed with solving the problem, so we wiped everything out and re-installed windows and everything, and then it worked. i mean seriously, we tried everything before doing the re-install.

did you feel that rush of wind go by you?

Get Firefox!

Firefox is More Safer and Faster than IE, Anti Pop-ups, Anti-spyware and tabbed Browsing.

Here you can download Firefox1.5 with Google Toolbar for Free:

You should get rid of that zero and get a browser with tons of benefits like Fire Fox @ http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Check it out
