The reason for these common experiences, scientists say, is that the body has two brains - the familiar one encased in the skull and a lesser known but vitally important one found in the human gut Like Siamese twins, the two brains are interconnected ; when one gets upset, the other does, too.

The gut's brain, known as the enteric nervous system, is located in sheaths of tissue lining the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. Considered a single entity, it is a network of neurons, neurotransmitters and proteins that zap messages between neurons, support cells like those found m the brain proper and a complex circuitry that enables it to act independently, learn, remember and, as the saying goes, produce gut feelings.

Butterflies is a term for the feeling that occurs when one is nervous or scared, excited or amazed.
There is no real cure but you can try to take deep breaths and think about something mundane like hanging out the washing. (Unless hanging washing is on your list of exhilarating activities.

Hope it helps

Technically? Butterflies in your stomach are bubbles. Basically, you get nervous and the muscles in your stomach start contracting and your stomach produces more acid, thus making bubbles. those bubbles feel like butterflies fluttering in your tummy.

it's just blood rushing away from your stomach and going to more vital areas, mainly your brain, to enable you to concentrate better in times of stress. Nothing to worry about. Caused by adrenaline.
