because I just like saying that word 'pulp'

I like the way it sounds

plus it reminds me of Pulp Fiction

and also of the movie Sophie's Choice. In it, Meryl Streep says "your intelligence is pulp...... pulp."

I love that line.

It IS the Banana. The outer portion is the 'skin', peel, jacket, etc., Mashed bananas are refered to as ' mashed bananas'.
