What is "homosexuality" in Islam?

Islamic communities separate the sexes. Men, in muslims communities, spend more time with men than anyone else.

Soliders or diplomats entering Islamic countries for the first time are briefed about their homosexual norms, that is, homosexual by our standards, not theirs.

In Islamic communities, men commonly hold hands and walk arm in arm or arm around shoulder. However, its against custom or, depending on the country, against the law for men and woman to show public affection. For example, public male-female kissing in Pakistan can get you put in jail for several years.

Homosexuality isnt always an on / off feeling. According to Kinsey studies, many men, who otherwise have strong desire for woman can have 'some' desire for men, and thus when woman are denied them, their sexuality is diverted into, what the west would characterize as 'homosexual' conduct but what they would call normal.

Its interesting to try and get Muslims to specifically say what acts are homosexual.

There is very good evidence to support the contention that Islamic countries have better than double the rates of homosexual (by west standard) activity as compared to western countries.

So what point are you trying to prove by stating that Islamic communities seperate sexes? That's not quite true... If the proper attire is worn by both men and women and they are in the right environment they aren't seperated (Universities, Hospitals, Schools, Public Transportations, Malls, Supermarkets, Resturants etc..) The only time women and men are seperated are in places like Bathrooms, Swimming pools and anywhere that will expose private parts and the hair/body of the woman. What's so wrong about that? I think that's great!

Homosexuality is a moral disorder. It is a moral disease, a sin and corruption. Like other moral and physical diseases, the sin also increases when it is not checked and corrected. Homosexuality is increasing today because it has a strong lobby and it is propagated and granted freedom to corrupt individuals and societies. No person is born homosexual, just like no one is born a thief, a liar or a murderer. People acquire these evil habits due to a lack of proper guidance and education.

According to the Islamic teachings, we do not believe that homosexuality or any other sin such as murder, rape or theft are biological problems. Allah has created all people according to the Fitrah (pure and good nature). It is their environment that corrupts them. In America for several years, there is a debate going on about homosexuality whether it is an orientation or a preference. There is no consensus on this issue. More than 80 per cent of the people in America and 95 per cent of the people of the world still believe that homosexuality is immoral and has nothing to do with the biology of a person. However, homosexuals have a strong lobby and they are working very hard to have this evil recognized and accepted as a normal behavior. It is a shame that some Muslims are also in their trap. They are imitating the non-believers in every thing. The Prophet –peace be upon him- predicted about such people, "if others entered a lizard’s hole, you would also enter it too…" May Allah protect us and our youth from this evil. A true Muslim must never commit this sin. It is absolutely forbidden (haram) in Islam. It can never be accepted in Islam as an acceptable way of life.

There are many reasons why it is forbidden in Islam. Homosexuality is dangerous for the health of the individuals and for the society. It is a main cause of one of the most harmful and fatal diseases. It is disgraceful for both men and women. It degrades a person. Islam teaches that men should be men and women should be women. Homosexuality deprives a man of his manhood and a woman of her womanhood. It is the most un-natural way of life. Homosexual behavior leads to the destruction of family life. Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an that the People of Prophet Lot were involved in homosexuality. Their deeds are called "khaba’ith" (the most dirty acts). Allah’s curse and chastisement came upon them. They were destroyed by the punishment of fire and brimstone.


Let me ask you this: Have you ever seen two girls shopping at the mall, walking arm in arm? Does that make them Lesbians? I think not. It shows a strong and healthy relationship. A NORMAL relationship. So please don't generalize that men in Islamic communities do that because they are Homosexuals.

Just because touching is such a Taboo in the West doesn't mean it's wrong. Human touch is the best thing. It connects people together. The only tough the West is used to is the sexual type. It's actually kind of sad.

As far as public displays of affection, I think it's just plain rude and disrespectful. Customs and laws don't allow PDA for several MORAL reasons. Holding hands, kissing on the cheek and even hugging is acceptable. Anything other than that should be a person's own business and not open for the whole world to see.

What acts are homosexual? French/Lip kissing and intimacy/sex with the same sex IS homosexuality.

Here's a smart question.
The definition of homosexuality is culture dependant. Let me put it in an other way. Many muslims I know asked me this question : Why does western society consider the simple touc a sexual act ?
How ? it's easy. In a western society if you can't do sex with some one you're not allowed to touch him/her in public : how many brother sister can holdhands ? Western will most likely take them as boy/girl friend ...
Where is it written that touching some one is only for sex ? why shouldn't friends from the same sex hold hands without giving the impression they are gays ( and they may have sex witheach other)
Try to thinkk wider, clearly making sex with the same sex or displaying sexual behaviour (french kissing, private part rubbing ...) makes you a gay/lesbian but touching is not one of the sexual behaviours (by the way Italians hold hands with no problem and most of africans do even non Muslims)

Homosexuality is just cause to get you stoned in Islam.

Homosexuality is actually beneficial to the human race, or at least it was during ancient times. Homosexual males did not compete with the heterosexuals, and they actually have a thing in their brain that's bigger and that allows them more empathy than heteros (read an article on it yesterday, excuse my eloquent terminology there). Homosexual guys were the brains of tribes. It's probably the same with lesbians, too.

if a man touch another man because he want to make homosexual action it is homosexual but if the touch was without any meaning it's not homo sexual.

I am not Muslim, I am not believer at all, but I have a really bad feeling reading your ideas. I would not have any emotions towards this nonsence and would accept it as a joke, but I met one very disgusting person once and I believe now that some people exist with very strange perceptions.

Some even do not differentiate between mother's feelings and feelings of pedophiles. I think that shows their big problems, not something problematic in communication of normal people.

Everybody thinks according to his/her own predispositions. I suspect that this stirring up of one feelings with anothers (which may be alleged from speeches) indicates that some feelings are absent in these persons at all and they try to strain another ones to compensate this emptiness - emptiness formed during education with all other people who have this chemistry, so also they are aware of certain feelings theoretically and try to feel them by experimenting in minds.

Another possible reason: people have lost a large portion of spirituality and depth of conversation with promotion of sexist culture.

Look, assuming you're right and there are more homosexuals in traditional Muslim societies, they are still not confused as to what homosexuality is. I have traveled to Muslim countries and spent time there. Holding hands or kissing on the cheeks is not sexual, so it does not make you homosexual. Muslim heterosexual men do not kiss each other on the lips, nor masturbate each other, nor have oral or anal sex. If they do, they know, whether they publicly acknowledge it or not, that they have engaged in homosexual activity.

if u have close or litteral sexual relationship with similar gender, then u are homosexual. this works for Islam or other religions.
