that we miss out on what is really important, living. Has anyone else noticed this?
In a different context, Bruce Lee once said "It is like a finger pointing to the moon, don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory." The Bible is the finger. Thoughts?

You are right but then if we do not debate the bible how shall we learn.God is always there but we will not be. I know we are running out of time and that we should be prepared for the coming of the Christ But how many people can we still save by telling them of the Word of God.Have you noticed how many agnostics and atheists there are. We should at least try to save them.Problem is they don`t respond to kindness and a soft word.We can only try.

I respectfully disagree with the analogy. It is very common, maybe even universal, for people to wonder what their purpose in life is, how they came to be, where they are going. People wander around lost trying to find anything to fill the emptiness of their lives. The bible is like a map. It helps us navigate through this life to get to the next. It answers these questions.

I think that people waste so much time debating over silly issues that they actually wind up painting worse pictures of themselves. In other words, they get so caught up in twisting around Bible verses and forcing their own interpretations on everyone that they end up judging people and treating other people the way that they would NOT want to be treated.

I'm not sure if that is what you are asking, but it sounds like it, and I did my best to answer.

The Bible is a very important part of our faith, but it has been placed ahead of much that most matters. The word of God is important in the life of the believer, but we are told that He will write His commandments upon out hearts. We are also told that His followers will know his voice. We should live each day with Him. Each day should be spent in the presense of God.

When my Dad was still alive I didn't drag out old letters from him when I wanted to hear from him, I called or went over. Same thing should apply to God. The word is important, but its important because it points us to God.

I will answer questions about theological validity on here, mostly offline I do not. Offline I have other thoughts and energies which lead me other places. If I am in the genealogy category I expect to answer questions on that so here I will answer why some text is not valid in my own view.

I suspect that a good deal of us don't even hardly mention belief systems outside of here.

I avoid debating. Whether it is valid or not is has some good rules to live by. If it feels right to me then I go by it but if something feels wrong for some reason then I don't...maybe I'm just misinterpreting it. I don't focus on the politics of it.

Right on!

I agree, if people would stop debating the Bible and simply read it, they will discover how valid it is without wasting time debating against it.

Agreed, but there is a faction of people that would wish to use the Bible as a source for politcal, and legislative purposes. So we mustn't become complacent neither.

There's really nothing to debate...

The Bible is fact. There are other historical documents that back it's facts! That's so cool!!!

No one has been able to discredit the Bible. Everyone that tries...is now a Christian. That's so awesome!

Grace to you and God Bless!
