Call your state's/county's department of health and human services. (It'll go by a different name in your area, but you can search online.) They will help you find out if you qualify for medical assistance. Usually public aid has dental benefits tied to it.

Do you have a Dental School associated with a University in Kansas City? I assume you do.
Most Dental Schools will clean and/or do some pretty in depth work on your teeth - as long as you understand and agree that you will be dealing with students (underthe supervision of an accredited Dentist).
My experience has been that this can be done for free or on a sliding scale based on income/assets, etc.
It's worth a try...

why dont you take out your phone book and call every dentist in your town . tell them that you cant afford a lot and ask them if they have payment plans or if they can put you in contact with a dental school nearby that would do dental work for low cost.

If you have other kids, make sure they brush and floss after ever meal... this is much cheaper than having cavities filled.

Is there a college of Dentistry there? Go there, you should be able to get a deep discount. If not sorry, no other idea.

Call up the government. They seem to love helping everyone. Let all the other tax payers pay for it.
