Do you believe in witchcraft, wizardry, paganism, anything like that? My dad said one of his friends saw a table levetate off the ground, and they are both Christians. (And they're real Christians who aren't stupid or anything like that. Don't get the wrong idea about them.)

So do you believe in magic?

Yes.

There's alot of stuff out there that very few people understand because they've been taught not to believe in any of it so they consider it to be evil, fantasy, what have you. It requires an open mind.

Yes, I have seen things that people were able to do. I have even read in the bible where witches were consulted by Jewish elders. It was witches or Magi that knew the star was "Jesus". A witch offered to buy gifts of the holy spirit off an apostle. However power without the right authority has a price. You may achieve certain abilities but the price you pay is that they that give it to you to gain ownership in your life here. Many of these abilities can be got correctly from the right channels. Astrology came from "the star gospel" which was God's word before the written bible. Astrology today is nothing more than a roulette game of prediction. Astrology even in Christ's time was not what is used today. It was closer to the original star gospel. Every constellation and relevant stars that tell the story of God are in the bible.

I believe that there are things we don't fully understand. I also think there are probably good scientific explanations for a lot of those things. Back in the middle ages, if you had struck a match and lit it, you would have been accused of witchcraft. Now we know that this is just chemicals and friction. I suspect that a hundred or a thousand years from now, we will look just as superstitious as those medieval peasants who attributed anything they didn't understand to satan, magic, witchcraft or demons.

Well since I am a Pagan and a Witch I think my answer is obvious. And if someone wants to think I am delusional for saying so, fine. I don't care. I've witnessed magic work, and there are a lot of things in this world that science can't explain...or it can at least try.

Well, we know that people levitate tables as magic tricks - the techniques are well known.

So that seems like a good place to start in explaining table levitation, as it's a known cause.

'Magic' to me is usually a rather empty concept that is used to dogmatically insist that something cannot be explained by any normal means.

I prefer leaving the door open to possible explanation for things we don't understand. Calling something "magic" or "miraculous" is giving up on the possibility of explanation.

I'm Christian myself & I've had experiences which could be considered "psychic". But these have been spontaneous - That is, I didn't plan or actively pursue them.
I do believe in supernatural powers, but I'm very uncomfortable with the idea of practicing witchcraft, wizardry or any kind of occultism. And what is commonly referred to as "magic" is usually some form of illusion or sleight-of-hand tricks.

I believe in people who are really terrific at slight-of-hand prestidigitation.

There was a scene in an old Mel Brooks movie (Blazing Saddles) where the table levitated. However- I'm pretty sure that this wasn't due to magic. (the men sitting around the table were all gazing at a photo of Lili von Schtup, played by the then voluptuous Madeline Kahn)

Of course! Didn't Moses part the Red Sea? Didn't Jesus turn water into wine? Isn't Merlin a legendary Wizard? Why is it so difficult to believe in magic? There is magic all around us that God sends to us.

I believe there's weird stuff that goes on in the universe that science hasn't yet got a handle on, partially because scientists have an a priori devotion to a world view in which such phenomena are inexplicable.
