I hate to say it and it sounds so petty when you are hurting. But time does heal all wounds. I have had loves in my life I thought at the time I would never get over and never love the same way again. It is true you don't feel the same kind of love for each new person. Your not the same and neither are they.
Keeping busy helps. Trying to force them out of your mind does not. You'll be reminded constantly about what you are trying not to think about.
Let go. Allow yourself to grieve and feel bad for a while. Experts say it takes one full year to get over someone.
P.S you can send this back to me if me and my new man break up. OK. Good luck. Hang in there. Your tougher than you think you are.

I don't think u really ever do get over it...I think that u just end up using that person as a model in your mind for what u want...and then one day u find someone w/ the same qualities that makes u feel the same way but is even better than your first love! As for him still being in your life, if you're meant to be together u will- EVENTUALLY! If that person is really for u then u can date 100 people in between and will still end up together if that's what's supposed to happen. As for him taking advantage of u, as long as you're smart enough (and it sounds like u r) to know that it's a possibility but one that u don't want to happen, then it won't as long as u keep it in the back of your mind!

He already is taking advantage of you. I can tell you that I have never gotten over mine. The best thing to do is just move on. The pain never goes away, but at least you have made the step in the right direction by taking a proactive step to your own well being. The thing is once he sees that you have moved on he'll stop playing you and finally realize how messed up he has made things.

i don't think you do. i was 13 when i meet my first love, and my goodness i thought i was giong to be with him forever. will thaat was almost true, we were together until we were like 16 years old then my family moved. that was three four years ago and i still have not gotten over the fact that i i am not with him. but things do get easier. i think that i made have find someone that i can say i love. which is hard beacuse i have had boyfriends after hom but never said that i love them, but i think this guy that talking to could be different and i hope that thing work. you just going to have to take it one day out a time, easier said then done. but ok i hope thing work out for you

He sounds like he cares about you but is confused.
He maybe wanting to see someone else.
If your young this is how the cookie crumbles.
There are more fish in the sea...TRUST.
1st loves are the best n worse. The pain will eventually pass but its getting there. Move on, hang with friends, stay busy and keep yourself up. Have a spa day with your best friend if you have to do it yourself at home.

I am almost 40 And I remember mine like he was sitting here next to me. I will always love him. If I think about him long enough I can still smell him. God he was good. Time does help but nobody can ever fill that space in your heart just keep busy; very busy.... with other wrong men til you meet the right one. good luck

how old r u? u won't ever fully get over it I don't think. But in time u will. I'd not talk to him at all for now. Only 1 love for me, not over it. I don't believe that meant to be bit, I knew we were, and it hasn't. I'm rare and unlucky. Sadly I made a mistake. A costly one.

Your never really get over those first loves.(1 was 10yrs old and carving his name in a tree-its been 38 years, but we are great friends.. I still love him). but you do heal when you decide you've had enough of the yo yo effect.
