For some people yes and for others no. Some people need guidance in their lives and need organized religion. Others can either not believe in God or communicate with Him on their own.

I think that religion is part of the evolutionary process of the soul. It is like a stepping stone to enlightenment. I think that a soul must experience a couple of religious life times in order to grasp the concept that you really don't need a religion to feel complete.

Yes it would! Religion kills in the aspect that the manmade laws put boundaries on people that never said was wrong. The only things that are wrong are what hurt others. Sex isn't wrong married or not-it doesn't have anything to do with external Holiness. Smoking or drinking is not wrong only if you hurt someone then its wrong. Jesus said that His greatest command to the religious experts to love God and others, THATS IT!!!! Religion can't set standards for people of all kinds?! What may be wrong for me may not be wrong for you and vice versa. So yes in answer to your question God never intended religion or rules for regulation but love ans sadly only a few get it.

it is prophesied in the book of Revelation tht the "antichrist" will one day prohibit all religion/ he will form one humanistic world order. If you know anything about end time prophecy, you know the world will not be a "happier place" when this happens. Be careful, you may get what you wished for.
Jesus Christ is not about religion or religiosity. In fact, He disdains false religions, pretense and hypocrites. That's why the Pharisees hated Him. Jesus knew they were fakes.

Nothing wrong with a question!
Well, I'm agnostic, but I don't think the world would be better. People feel good and better about themselves because of religions. It makes them strive to do good things. I think the world is fine with religions. They just should stick to it and not preach.

yes and a much nicer place without folks thinking that everyone is going to hell
this may come as a shock but atheists do not go round killing and stealing and raping - I'm sure some do but look at your prison population - gasp - horror-shock the vast majority label themselves as christian. stop believing what you're preached from the pulpit and actually think for yourself.

There is a lot of important information in the Bible that generally is ignored, and has been around for thousands of years, but if people would read it and understand it they would find peace. The Bible is not the source of the world's problems but it is the cure. Check out this website if you don't believe me.

Not necessary...The human brain is one of the most powerful things created by the creator and it will find new ways to create tensions among humans whether religious or not.
Religion is just an excuse to fight, actually there are other motives the brain can invent...The key to happiness lies in contentment and I dont know a god damn soul who is happy and content with life...Humans want more and more of everything and in this pursuit they always remain unhappy!!!

I don't know how it could be.. religion is all about having a relationship with the higher power you believe in, and having a relationship with your fellow man..
It's when relationships break down, or do not exist that conflict thrives, so I would say definitely no, the world would not be a happier place.

no. that's why most prison inmates turn to christianty. they need something to believe in. something to live for. most people need that.
but, (not necessarily smarter people) people who can fess up to the fact that when we die, we just die can accept that fact and live just as well.
sure, without religion we wouldn't be saying things like the apoclypse will come if we start a war, or fighting about saying the pledge of allegience at school. but weaker people who are confused would kill themselves and stuff. you get my flow?

Anyone who thinks that there would be no morals without religion is an idiot. The most ethical people that I know are nonbelievers.
That being said, if there were no religions, idiots would still find reasons to hate. Perhaps there would be wars between blue-eyed people and brown-eyed people.
