I have seen lots of answers saying use some sort of cream, lotion, or other oil-based product. Please don't. Oils do nothing besides trap the heat of the burn into your skin. When you realize you have a sunburn, take a cool bath with no bath oils. Lukewarm/cool water only. It's a fever on your skin...If you absolutely feel the need to put something on the burn, Aloe is the best option. It's a natural healer, and will soothe the sunburn a bit. Other than that, leave it alone. Take Tylenol or Advil for the pain.

You should wear a good sunscreen, because by getting sun burnt, you are increasing your risk of skin cancer, and also damaging your skin which will cause it to become leathery and dry. However the best thing for treating sunburn is strips of Aloe Vera. This is a plant that every home should have as it is marvelous for cuts and burns, giving relief and speeding up the healing. Just slit open the leaves and lay them across the burnt regions... for the best results strap them on with a bandage if possible.

A luke warm bath with a couple of tablespoons of baking soda in the water...lay in it or splash it over the burn for about 15 to 20 minutes..at no time let it dry on the skin or the baking soda will shrink the skin making it painful. Rinse off well under the shower or with clean water to get rid of the baking soda..helps get rid of the pain and calms the burn down . Pat yourself dry and then apply pure aloe Vera gel to the burn and it should be better very soon.

You don't "get rid" of sunburn. It is exactly what the name says it is. The skin is burned, damaged. What is known as a first degree burn, as one might get if they got too close to the fire.

So, the skin has to heal, beneath the damaged skin. You can't speed that up. All you can do is protect yourself from infection, and, perhaps ease the pain.

Bactine, or similar sunburn sprays can help with the pain. Moisturizers may help the skin from drying out. When the skin is healed, you will know it.

try aloe vera if that doesnt work there may be something your dermatoligst can recommend. I do wonder what you are doing to keep getting sun burned. Maybe try a higher sunblock. be very careful because there a greater risk of skin cancer with every sun burn, not to mention the effects it takes on your skin like premature wrinkles.

Aloe Vera gel works wonders for burns of all kinds. It will help the healing and also reduce the peeling effect. However your burn will gradually turn into a tan.

Aloe vera is amazing on all kinds of burns. It's best to just buy an aloe plant, then when you get burned, just tear off a leaf, break it and rub the aloe directly on your burn.

If you can't get an aloe plant, just buy some lotion with aloe in it.

Better watch it, they'll be calling you 'alligator hide' as you get
older. Try covering up (wear breathable fabrics) and use a good
SPF-based cream on exposed skin. There has been a HUGE
increase in the number of under-30 cases of skin cancer, BTW!

If you DO continue to insist on getting burnt, use vinegar to relieve the sensitivity/pain. My mother taught me that many years
ago.
