They don't need tangible proof to show the existence of something that they do not believe in. For an athiest, no prove will be sufficient.

Yes.
Science deals with real things; faith deals with what you believe without testable "proof".
You can do scientific tests to show, for example, that magnets induce electricity, animals need oxygen to breath, hydrogen and oxygen combine to form water, etc. If you disagree with a scientific theory (It's all theory!) come up with a better or more precise explanation. Devise and experiment that shows you're right, and the other theory is wrong. That's science.
Faith is what you believe. Science stops where there is no proof. You cannot devise an experiment that says there is a god or gods. If you throw yourself off a building, you will die (or hit the awning down there and live) whether you pray or believe or not. You can't deflect a beam of light or a bullet with the power of prayer- I'm sure it's been tried. (Or what I mean, I can't set you up in a lab and show - "see? Prayer, light comes thru rock, no prayer, light blocked"). Or, send the priest, the rabbi, and the atheist to buy 100,000 lottery tickets each, and see what happens...
So, until you can present tangible proof, people will believe what they already believe - and if there are gods or not- that is a personal and private belief. Allah akbhar!
Like believer in the merciful god presented with evidence of life's cruelty, or flatlanders shown the earth is round, some atheists probably wouldn't accept a proof if it was offered to them.

you could debates carolynns point there in the fact that shes believing there is no God without proof of there not being one. =\
but i guess they do need tangible proof there is a God, and no, the Bible isnt proof of anything. you just have faith it is Gods word.
im neither athiest nor christian, agnostic i guess, but i guess if u dont beleive in an afterlife or a supreme being you dont really have any point of existance either except to be a meal for something higher on the food chain then huh?

No they are just stupid people that think everything just happened by itself. If only I can find an atheist that is willing to prove the bible wrong.Prove that God does not exist. If only one of them could create a splendid world with exactly the right mixture of gasses to sustain life. One that is unique in the universe that they create. Exactly the right distance from a light source. If someone needs proof that God exists they can only look at every minute detail of the cosmos. The power in it.Some one must control all that power and energy.

If they need tangible proof they can see it makes me wonder why they believe in the atom. I think atheists have simply made up their mind and no amount of evidence could convince them of God's existence. But the burden of proof is on them, not us. If they can't convince themselves there is a God with the evidence we have available then it's not up to me.
You can show an atheist a painting and ask him if there was an artist and he will say yes because he can see the evidence of the artist in the painting but show him a tree and ask him if there is a Creator and suddenly his brain vapor locks and goes into alternate logic mode. They see the evidence of a Creator and yet deny it or devise alternate theories based on fear. It's kind of sad really.

No. We're beyond that. We would need an actual demonstration and introduction- this would include actual information as to why there are dinosaur bones that were never mentioned in the bible, how the earth was really created in 7 days, how its possible that cave dwellings and pangea were left out of the bible, why there are so many species of dogs, and why some races of humans are considered inferior to others (among many other inconsistencies).
Then an apology for all the lies and bulls#it that his/her followers throw at us on a daily basis.

Uhh... don't you need tangible proof to believe anything? Think about it. I'm not going to say "I have faith that 'Fraxinus nigra' is a blonde, because Joe told me. And he wrote it down in a book. And put holy on the front of it." Know what I mean? If I saw you in person, saw that you were a blonde, then I would believe it.
Exact same way with Christianity. But even that was written years and years ago.

I wouldn't think so,because there's no tangible proof to what they believe in, and they believe that so i don't see why they would need tangible proof of god.

Not really.
You become an atheist by observing the world, by understanding things that seem incoherent, by mesurating the proof in front of your own eyes.
What can be more tangible than that?

er . . . . excuse me.
There seems to be an awful lot of questions at the moment concerning God.
It's not Christmas or something is it?
Perhaps there are crowds of people sitting on top of a mountain looking up at the sky?
Or about to commit mass suicide on a number 6 bus?
I hope not - because I know the son of a woman who cleans the number 6 buses.
Have you got any idea how much mess mass suicides make?
Why don't we all lighten up a little?
Lets all sit down and have a nice cup of tea?
That would be nice, wouldn't it?
And a biscuit.
Custard creams are nice.
But you mustn't dunk them in your tea because they are very soft and they break in half before you can put it in your mouth.
Then you will make a mess all over the carpet.
And your mum will get really cheesed off.
And go and catch a number 6 bus.
And we all know what that means, don't we?
Yep
more work for my friend's mum!
