I would. My friends are people that I love dearly, however I would probably take a bullet for a perfect stranger or family member as well.
John 15:13
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

I am a veteran from the same era and I did take a bullet once and would again for a friend. I would rather not but a life is to precious not to risk your own in an attempt to save one. Also true friends are very rare and if a person is a real friend in the full meaning of friendship there would be no hesitation on either side of who would take a bullet for whom, even if it is just for an slim chance to keep that friend alive.

Depends on the friend, But I think I would take a bullet only for family or my fiance.

Take a bullet, as in you getting killed by it or taking a bullet as non-fatal?
