which is better? maxima or altima?

Since both are made by the same manufacturer and offer the same warranty, etc. it would be your choice entirely. The Maxima is a bigger car with more power and more luxury amenities. The Altima is a bit smaller, does not offer the poshness and offers better mileage with a little less power. Both have great reputations as far as reliability and customer loyalty.

They are both excellent vehicles.....Maximas start around 28,000 and a V6 Altima could run as much but with a lot more amenities.....realize that the Altima comes in 4 and 6 cylinder......the V6 is the same engine but the 2007 Maxima has a CVT transmission that really improves the ride.....warranties are the same but the Maxima is a little bigger as well......if it was up to me and not about "power" I would go for a 2.5 liter Altima with the SL package.....you would be under the 25000 MSRP before discounts and rebates......but the "power" of the V6 is unbelievable and still gets 29 miles per gallon......lease it and don;'t buy it.......negotiate the price period....tell them invoice plus $500 that would be more then fair......work a payment on a lease and retail on the same amount and pick.....ask for the rate or factor.....if they give you factor multiply it time 24 to get the actual interest rate.....then walk out and shop the factor unless they are willing to assure you that the factor they are using is the buy rate........if not....thank you by and let me shop the next dealer........good luck!!!!!!

Altima is really nice, and good value. Personally I think that the Maxima is overpriced and in recent years too similar to the Altima. In fact I found it to be so expensive for just a little more I was able to buy an Acura TL which is way better than either car.

Now if you are talking the older models when there was a big difference, the Maxi ma was a lot better.

i own an 2006 altima it is a great car with performance its not as good as a maxima but its kinda the same. with the altima myn is stick shift it is really good with the gas and stuff so i hope i helped. but if i were u ill choose the altima.

If you want to go for performace then Maxima is the one.
However if you are picky about Mileage then Altima..
