It's almost like he will do the exact opposite of what I am saying or displaying. It's nerve-racking and I find myself plotting his death (just kidding) ... how do you relate or at least get along while under the same roof ?

Talk very little and look for respectful things to mention as accomplishments.

To really get along? Put up wtih each other and keep lines of communication going until you are both older than 35 -- age itself alone will end their rivalry and feuding, ultimately.

do you play poker? pessimists always lose cos theyre afraid to bluff and always fold so if you cant make him enjoy life, take his money so you can!
