Yes it is a compliment, some people just don't know how to be subtle in their approach. I think it just means that its so rich and natural looking and it's really an envious question. You probably eat right too which adds a nice lustre and silkiness to your hair as well. Keep doing what you're doing. You are a hair stylist's dream.................

My hair is also very dark, almost black. I get the same questions all the time. I also have curly hair so people are always asking if it's natural. My favorite question was from an older woman who asked is that your real hair.

You should take it as a compliment. Most of the time people ask if you dye your hair b/c they really like the color.

I dye my hair but my natural hair color now is almost black but when I was 6 years old my hair was blonde and it had white streaks in it (it was natural) and alot of people thought that my hair was dyed and I got sick of it and I said to one person "I'm not supposed to talk to strangers" and they got all offended and walked off but yeah I know how you feel.

Just try to ignore it, it really is none of their business. I wouldn't get too worked up over it. Embrace your natural hair and go on with life!

Maybe it's because most Asians have jet black hair. Tell them to mind their own business.

Take it as a compliment and say "thanks, but it's natural." Leave it at that. I wouldn't get my panties all up in a bunch over it. It's not really a big deal.
