No it doesn't cramp you but you'd better have time to be able to unload when nature calls. I've used "Grandma's Herbs" Herbal Colon Cleanser and Tonic" along with their "Super Lax" for years (but not for the last 18 months). They are sold in capsules you can swallow or make into a tea. The tea tastes like pure death, so I only did THAT once. You should cater your diet to the cleansing. I also used to fast as well, for spiritual as well as health reasons. You actually FEEL lighter and cleaner. Your tummy is soothed and flattened significantly. Your colon is more "productive" and you're just healthier! Check out their website. A good beautiful friend of mine turned me on to the company... before that I used something that was waaay too expensive.

Some people also do a fasting cleanse with steam distilled water (one gallon), cayenne pepper and pure maple syrup. That is also gross, but very effective and tolerable. I've never personally stuck with that one. I'm an herb/vitamin/supplement type o' gal.

See my answer under your cleansing question. You can cleanse or detoxify the whole body or just the colon (large intestine). Cleansing colon helps the body detoxify.

Quickest method is the medical procedure used by doctors and nurses everyday at hospitals-- enema. Takes an hour. Then there are things you can take (takes a day or 2). Site below has something but nothing works as good as enema. Some herbal laxatives contain senna or casca sagrada which if you take a little too much, then you can get very SEVERE intestinal cramping.
