A greyhound can hit a top speed of about 45mph on a straightaway. Whippets get up to about 37mph but will take turns faster than greys.

It depends. A GH is faster on the straightaway and they have more endurance. A Whippet is more agile and can turn much quicker, so it really depends on the course.

A whippit is a smaller version of a greyhound...so i'm assuming that since the greyhound is bigger...it would be faster b/c of longer legs!!

greyhound - they can exceed 40 mph in 3 strides.
