Any time I ask a question that criticizes a specific fraction of their numbers, they go hard to work trying to dissect and analyze my statement looking for any key words they can focus on, then the mud slinginng begins. Focusing on a couple of key words, they begin attempting to discredit my question as if they were trying to neutralize my testimony in a court of law.

I have never made a statement in here that lacked the implied degree of truth. I have never made a blanket statement, implying that every single atheist OR Christian does anything. I have never made a statement that was totally false for every single member of the group discussed, but to hear them say it, every statement I've ever made has been guilty of all of this.

Such fanaticism is a strong indicator of more dubious motives. So called Atheists that behave in such a fashion are far more likely to be Jerk (aka Troll) that merely wish to be a pain. So, I guess that makes their replies irrelevant.

Most atheists are just regular people who cannot swallow the dogmas in all the religions. Those dogmas absolutely do not make any sense.

Dogmas and concepts are followed by people without them even questioning the real depth of where some 'religious' ideas come from. However, there is Truth and when the Truth is really understood, it just makes sense.

Yes, God is Everything. There is more of a chance that there is a Creator than there is a chance that there is not.

But the idea of a 'god' sitting up there and sending you to hell for not believing in some man-made dogmas, is just crazy.

The athiests are at least brave enough to break out of the hypotism that some followers are in.

However, if atheists could realize that this Universe is a very "Logical" place and call that Logic - God, then even they can see the sense of it all.

Maitreya(GIWH) of the Mission Of Maitreya explains all this beautifully and it makes so much sense!

lol, well that's like the kettle calling the pot black. Atheists fling mud and then Christian fanatics begin flinging poo, then before you know it you have a dirty little escalation on both sides of the fence.
You will always have fanatics on both sides that just can't or don't have the patience (or tolerance) to be able to perceive a different viewpoint. This isn't new by the way. This has been happening since religion began. The only difference is that at certain points during history, some religions wielded enough power that they could torture or kill their dissidents. (Which sort of tells you a little bit about that religion by the way.)

You seem to be referring to this:

You keep presenting lies and misconceptions as 'fact' and 'truth'. WTF else do you expect? Rational people have an ethical duty to call attention to your many falsehoods. If you got your facts right before you spouted, you wouldn't have that problem.

You said: "I have never made a statement in here that lacked the implied degree of truth."

That is false. Your assertions are loaded with falsehoods.

You said: "Such fanaticism is a strong indicator of more dubious motives."

What might those dubious motives be? Ah, yes... opposition to lies, misrepresentations and willful ignorance. So... why are those motives 'dubious'?

Perhaps you're right. I haven't thought of it in that light. But have you noticed that the religious people sure do pick the atheists apart ? Maybe a lot more than the other way around.
There is nothing more positive, louder, more condemning of others, more positive of his own beliefs than most preachers.
You call atheists fanatics. What do you call those TV preachers who yell, scream, sweat, threaten hell-fire, and make damn fools of themselves ?

Well I am agnostic, but it has been my experience that most people say key words not meaning too, which tell the true extent of what they believe. Everyone puts on a face that they want to world to see, but that is not who they really are. People tend to give them selves away in what they say and how they say it, key words for example. Don't fault them for seeing things in you that you did not want them to see, maybe if you tried analyzing your self a bit more, then they would not be trying to analyze you.

I don't think anybody's opinion ca be called irrelevant, it certainly isn't irrelevant to the person writing it.

In this day and age, it's good to be doubtful, it's good to have a critical mind when often we just "follow the pack". There's also such a thing as too much doubt - if there's only doubt in one's mind, there's no room for moving forward or taking action in a positive or constructive way.

If you feel you are doing that, then i wouldn't worry about what other people write.

Atheist are no different than anyone else. Most are decent, moral people. Most Christians are moral decent people. There are jerks in any faction. Atheist just have a lot more skeptism and a great deal many more questions. It is not that most are dead set against believing in something, they just want proof. So to answer your question, because they want you to prove them wrong.

Also some people are just jerks.

"I have never made a statement in here that lacked the implied degree of truth." Never? NEVER? Judge, I'd like to have that stricken from the record and the defendant reprimanded and charged with contempt. Obviously, this person's whole testimony is FALSE. GUilty! See you in Hell.

Atheists are used to being picked on - far more so than any variant
of Christianity, Jews, etc.

How many Atheists do you think are in this country?
How many people can you NAME?

Why? Because they are in fear of their lives.

So ... in an anonymous forum, would YOU take the opportunity to
zealously defend yourselves?
