i believe some things are unforgivable.. such as murder rape and abuse.... but alot of christians say that as long as you "repent for your sins" you will go to heaven. but killing people unless under the right circumstance is unforgivable. why do people think that they can commit all the crimes they want and still go to heaven anyways? i mean, if i do go to heaven, i dont want to be with a ton of murderers or rapists. the whole concept just confuses me. anyone wanna shed some light on the subject?

Why do you believe that some sins are unforgivable? Is it because you think the sin itself, by its very nature, is unforgivable, or are you personally not willing to forgive people who commit these heinous sins?

The bible says All have sinned and come short of the Glory of GOD. In John 3 it says repent and be baptised everyone of you for the remission of sin. It also says God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that NONE should perish and all should come to repentence.

This means everyone who seriously asks will recieve forgiveness. While the people may never forgive. GOD is a faithful and just GOD. He will forgive the worst sinner. Remember Peter said he was the chiefest sinner. When we get to heaven we will have a new body. You will not be able to see the past sins of a person. The will be given a heavenly body.

Ask the lord for understanding and open your eyes to scriptures that will show his love for everyone. Realize Mary Magdalin was a prostitute and Jesus said he that is among you without sin cast the first stone. All put away the stones, because none is Holy no not one.

I hope this helps

The only unpardonable sin according to the scripture is blasphemy regarding the holy spirit. Paul was a murderer, persecuting christians, but he was converted and ended up writing most of the new testament. Sin is only categorized in our society. In God's eyes "sin is sin". Praise God for his mercy and the fact that even the meanest, vilest person is not immune to his grace. God Bless

These things you mentioned are in human terms unforgivable.God works on a different set of rules than we do.Once we start using His rules we will also be able to forgive such sins AGAINST HUMANITY. Remember when Jesus was asked about taxes. And He took a coin and asked whose likeness was on the coin.In human terms this criminal wears the likeness of satan. If he beg forgiveness from God he will still have to pay for his crime(likeness of Caesar)But his soul will wear the likeness of God.We the people must also forgive him if he asks for forgiveness but that does not mean that we must take away his just reward for his crime. If someone asks for your forgiveness and you do not grant it that in itself is a sin and will be held against you. "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us" Powerful words but not just there because it sounds good. You cannot be forgiven if you do not forgive.

Sara ... first of all there is no heaven or hell, per say ... as such the premise of forgiveness is wrong as understood by most simpletons. I will post the basic answer on this here, but it is simpler and yet harder then most want to grapple with. Hope this helps.

There is evidence of [reincarnation] in Jewish thought, apart from Kabbalah, which dates to the time of Rome. According to the Antiquity of the Jews, Book 18, Chapter 1, Number 3, "[The Pharisees] believed that souls have immortal vigor in them [and that the virtuous] shall have power to revive and live again...." (Head, Cranston, Reincarnation, p.26).

The bracketed statements are not necessarily in the original statement, and may be implied understanding of the editors of the text. If you drop the bracketed statements the statement reads something more general: "A sect of Jews from Antiquity, believed that souls have immortal vigor in them, and shall have power to revive and live again...."

This is Jewish understanding from the same era as Jesus Christ (Y'shua). According to Philo Judoeus (20 B.C.E to 54 C.E.), "The air is full of souls; those nearest to earth descending to tied to mortal bodies return to other bodies, desiring to live in them." Flavius Joshep (37 - 100 C.E.), Jewish historian, addressing Jewish troops during the final days of Israeli existence under Rome, says, "Do you not remember that all pure Spirits when they depart out of this life obtain a most holy place in heaven, from whence, in the revelation of ages, they are again sent into pure bodies" (Head, Cranston, Reincarnation, p. 27).

The Zohar, the Book of Splendor, says, "The souls must reenter the absolute substance whence they have emerged. But to accomplish this end they must develop all perfections, the germ of which is planted in them; and if they have not fulfilled this condition during one life, they must commence another, a third, and so forth, until they acquire the condition which fits them for reunion with God" (Head, Cranston, Reincarnation, p. 29).

Well I'm afraid to say that the Bible sets one of the worst examples to follow, and there's little wonder that religious people are so violent and full of hatred. Consider this ...

God is the greatest mass murderer in history.
References: Genesis 6:11-17 and Genesis 7:11-24
Some examples:

GE 6:13 - And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

GE 6:17 - And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Seems to me that God (for you believers) is annoyed with humanity other than his buddy Noah, and decides to kill (murder) every living thing on the face of the earth, except of course Noah and his family - got to have a few friends left.

God allowed women raped and your little children slaughtered.
From God’s so called Bible - Isaiah 13:15-18

“Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children.”

How any decent person can believe and follow the Bible is beyond imagination, seems like religious people just ignore the bits they dislike and twist the rest into a happy delusion, much like the behaviour of drug addicts.

The Bible is full of terrible atrocities and evil, far more than nice things, but of course believers will just ignore or twist the atrocities into whatever soothes their confused minds – “Hey, that’s OK, God made everything so it’s alright for him to do whatever he wants, he’s good” – yeah, right – get a grip for goodness sake.

I'm afraid that murder, rape, and abuse is all in the Bible and God is a leader in that field. Hardly a model example of who to follow or believe in.

Only God knows a persons heart and soul and only he can determine if a person is truly repenting of their terrible crime. I personally believe there are few who are truly sorry if they are in heaven we won't know because they will be worthy . Trust in God he will take care of you and remember faith is a difficult thing once you have faith God will take care of these bad people you will be able to let these feelings go.

I a happy to see there are people like you around. I mean people that have never sinned that can cast all these stones you throw around. ONLY people that are truly trusting Christ for salvation will make it to heaven. If people who commit these horrible acts truly change you won't forgive? I'm glad Christ is God and not someone who is as mean as you sound...Jim

god is very forgiving. Even the worst sinners can recieve salvation as long as we repent. we will always sin, but as long as we repent, we will be forgiven. The ONLY unforgivable sin is....denying that you are a sinner in need of God's forgiveness. On the contrary, If we acknowledge our faults, god will forgive us.
