oh my god, i do too. No, I don't, but that would be freaky. You know, I do feel the presence of a spiritual being in my house. Maybe its my relative that passed away some time ago. I've also heard a neighbors voice calling out my mom's name some time ago while i was in the kitchen studying for an exam. She had passed away years before and had the habbit of opening the front door on her own. That freaked me out. ever since then, I've believed in ghosts.

I was in a totally silent environment one time. It was in a lab. it was major spooky you could hear your heart beat. We all hear things at night in any house. Make sure that your house is indeed secure then try not to worry about it. Sometimes the use of a noise generator or a box fan will provide a steady low noise that helps people sleep. If you are very fearful or find yourself missing a lot of sleep talk to an MD or an APN

There are many explanations to why noises happen at night.
Weather can create the house to make noise. Hot days, cold nights cause the wood to expand and shrink.
Animals in the walls
Old buildings
Heating / Air conditioning vents clicking on and off.
Falling asleep, and going into REM sleep causes external sensations that manifest into an internal dream type sequence.
Or a legitimate paranormal experience.

It usually happens in times when you have a lot of free time, and you are relieved of most mental stress. Therefore your brain is less tired and you find it difficult to sleep. When you study or work, your brain is being worked, and so at night, it needs rest. Sleep rejuvenates the mind while food rejuvenates the body. So if this keeps happening, find something to keep your mind busy, not just working out or running.
