First off, fad diets don't work or aren't sustainable. You will NOT lose 50 lbs in a week and keep it off, that is a simple fact.

Second, pills either don't work or will kill you.

If you're overweight, it is most likely a lifestyle problem so in order to lose weight, or more importantly, to get healthy, you need to change your lifestyle.

Exercise and proper diet are of utmost importance. If you don't exercise, get started. Joining a gym is a great first step, they have lots of resources to help you along. Make going to the gym part of your daily routine, not an interruption. Trust me, it won't take long to start looking forward to it. Start out slow, nothing derails an exercise plan quicker than getting injured. If you can afford it, hire a personal trainer.

See your doctor about changing your diet. Have him recommend a sensible plan that you can stick to and stick to it. There are some simple things you can do like eliminating sugar that make for good first steps.

You have to take charge of your life and make the change. No one can do it for you.

There is no "easy way". You have to eat a balanced diet and exercise. Make sure when you exercise you do aerobic as well as weight training exercise. This builds your muscle as well as burns calories.
