Yes, I used to use it and it is pretty safe... It is a substitute to Microsoft Office, if you're one of the ones who can't afford Microsoft's Products like me, then this program is for you. It is completely free and can edit Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and HTML files....

Yes I use open office to write PDF files such as eBooks that I use as marketing tools to advertise my network marketing program and it's been VERY effective so far. It's all about attraction marketing. Openoffice has been an invaluable tool.

OpenOffice is safe and very good.
You can either download it from www.openoffice.org
OR
Get a ubuntu cd shipped to your home (from www.ubuntu.com) and it'll have the windows version of openoffice.

Its perfectly safe to download. I personally think its better than Word, etc., but then I am a very firm supporter of the open source movement.
