its because of that we are so self concious!

I think it is not really that they critize... if it is somebody that cares about you it is probably because they are worried. Overweight may be accompanied by many problems, starting with your heart, over bones and much more.
A friend of mine has cancer and it was not possible to make a TAC cause she didn't fit into the machine... so that is really bad.
Also, if you are overweight, do you ever complain about it, especially when buying clothes or so? If so, that might be another reason why people "talk" - because they see that you don't feel good with yourself, always a trouble when being invited to a party, nothing to wear, etc.
Skinny is not nice either, but being in good shape will help you keep your good health which is the most important thing.

Because we live in a society where it is still socially acceptable to belittle, insult and hurt those who are overweight to obese. It is the only avenue of disability still ok within the social norm to insult.
It is not because it is a self concious issue, but mainly a social acceptance issue.

people always criticize people to make themselves feel better.
people who are overweight are always an easy target for them to make themselves feel better with.
personally, i think that what most call overweight is not near as problematic as the people who starve themselves to make themselves think that they look good.
skin and bones are not attractive to me

BECASUE people who make fun of other people on a reagular basis USUALLY are self insecure so they pick on others to feel more... Big i guess in a way. makes them feel better...
Or they are just flippn cruel with nothing better to do haha

Because they are idiots, and usually have a low self esteem, and if they put you down, just maybe they can convince themselves they are not so bad.

they do it to make themselves feel better. they feel that if they cut down another person's self-image they make themselves feel better. its out of their own insecurities!!

I've never done that. Everybody has flaws....some you see and some you don't. ......I've never seen a perfect looking person.
