It would depend on if this is a daily babysitter and you are paying her daily or is it just a once in while babysit with the teenage girl down the street. I would be careful about leaving my 1 year old with an inexperienced girl and I would insist that she have both a CPR and first aid certificate that is current. All day everyday would be about $60 for two children for 6 to 8 hours. You should pay the only sometimes babysitter ten dollars an hour.

I have a 5 and 3 year old, and i pay my babysitter 12.00 a day per child. If it was anymore, i'm afraid i wouldn't be able to afford it, and that seems reasonable for some spaghettio's or hot dogs.....HAHA

I was just looking over the answers! I'm appaled! The babysitter shouldn't make more than you! 12 dollars an hour? come on....it's not even worth it to leave the house for that!

The going rate for daycare in CA is $20.00 per day, per child. That is assuming a drop off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick up by 5:30. After that they charge 5.00/hour per kid until 6:30, then it's a buck a minute. No one is ever that late. LOL.

For a teenager/young adult for an evening or an afternoon, I usually pay at least 5.00 an hour or 20.00, whichever is more.

It depends on the kind of care you are seeking and if its a teen or an adult.

I have 3 children ages 1,5, and 7. I would pay a teen 10- for a couple hours and 20 for a day or overnight.

For an adult I would do 15 to 20 for the same.

Be careful who you are choosing to watch your kids. There have been many reports of incidents around here involving abuse. You can screen teens by asking for report cards, and meeting parents.
If its someone who does childcare from home. I would request a police report unless its someone you know directly. Also a couple references.

It depends on the age of the sitter. personally if it is lest then 4 hrs but more than 1, 20 bucks anything less is 10 and if it is 4 or more then 40 no more after that . Besides that is what grandparents are for

depends where you live and how experienced is you sitter. (I live in Palo Alto, CA)

My teenage sisters charge 10 to 12 an hour for one to two kids, a few evenings a week.

My older sister was making $17.50 an hour as a companion for the mother of two girls: one and three year old, but she was driving with them to the park, mall, zoo, etc. she also has a CPR whatever is called and experience with children after working at a licenced child care and a license herself,
so if you are just going to the movies or out for dinner, find yourself a nice responsible teenage kid that will watch your children WHEN THEY ARE OLDER (you do NOT want to leave a one year old with a teenager) but if you are back at work and be leaving the children for more than five hours, better find yourself someone mature and with experience, even if you have to pay much more.

I have know a lot of ladies that charge $10 to $12 per day, (my ex neighbors) but are not paying attention to the children all day, (mabye let them watch as much TV as they want, etc) just to get them off their face.

So, before making a desition, review your options, and try not to see it as how much you will be spending, but how safe your children will be.

I think it depends on what time of day ( if it is evening and night the babysitter doesn't really have to do much!) and how experianced they are, and the number and age of the kids.

10 bucks an hour

figure, first of all ages 1 and 3 are no easy task! theres diapers and toilet trianing involved, plus youre putting the LIVES of your children into this persons hands, thats a large responsibility for that person, so be generous and youll find theyll more then likely, come back
