Go to this website: http://www.compassionatefriends.org/ to speak with others online and to find information regarding local support groups. If you are religious, seek support from your members. Friends and family are excellent sources, but at times you just simply need the compassion and first person understanding of what it feels like and means to lose a child. I wish you the best.

First of all, I am so sorry for what you are going through. You are in my thoughts.
Secondly, try calling a newspaper and asking them. In the area I live, each Wednesday then have a calender of groups that meet. There are a few groups that deal with the loss of a child.
I bet the newspaper could give you some information, if not phone numbers.
Good luck.

Sometimes you own dr can provide that information. Sometimes in the front of the phone book there are contact #'s for mental health services. You also might want to consider a grief counselor. I am so sorry for you loss.

I am very sorry that you have to go through such a tragic loss. I have read all the responses, and I had one more idea that might be helpful. Try the craigslist groups in your area. www.craigslist.com they may have a group suited for your loss.

Call the funeral homes in your area --- they usually know of all such groups that are operating near you. . .if not - the local hospital may be able to refer you somewhere . . .
Interesting that you ask this question on the 13th anniversary of the loss of my 9 yr old son. . . there weren't support groups near me at that time --- wish there had been.
Also - the internet has many bereavement sites today. . .

Someone at the hospital or your doctor's office should help. Maybe your local crisis center or mental health. You could try the church and don't forget your family.
I can't imagine your pain. I pray that you find comfort.
