For me this means that a. without a belief in god we don't have to worry about worshiping or doing rituals, & b. that a lot of tension is caused between religions & without religious differences we wouldn't fight about them, so no religion is your answer. It also implies C to some people, that if there is no god, you don't have to worry about an afterlife... A lot of christians take this to mean you get to be a nasty evil atheist, but this is not the case. It never lessons your responsibility to yourself and your fellow humans & the planet we all live on. It also refers directly to the Christian tradition of original sin, without a god of course none of have...
I don't feel this is particularly effective as people would have problems regardless of whether they believed in a god or not, and because of reason c, how it is percieved.
Do atheists not have any problems? As an atheist I know I have them.
Would atheists throughout history not fought over land, money, control, power or simply an object or person of desire? I think they would...
I know you don't seriously believe all problems stem from religious beliefs, but thats what this suggests.
Atheism, "No God" is just that, a non-belief in god - it isn't a philosophy for living or a solution to the world's problems.

I believe this is an oversimplification. The human mind seems to be geared towards religion in some form or another. Even in modern society, where we can explain most things without introducing god(s), people choose to keep their religion. Or they invent new ones, and believe in spirits, ghosts, jedi "force", witchcraft, magic, homeopathy, acupuncture, etc...
Even people who consider themselves totally without spirituality, becomes almost ecstatic when their socker team wins (or superbowl for you americans).
There are very few people around that are atheists. Most people prefer believing in "something", even though it isn't necessary the christian beliefs they grew up with. And religion also gives people a feeling of "meaning", "spirituality", and "community", all important factors in living a happy life.
The norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen said: "If you take the life lie from an average man, you take away his happiness as well". He wasn't exactly talking about religion, but I find it fitting anyway. We need plenty of lies to keep life bearable. Some examples might be "I live in a happy marriage", "My job is meaningful", "There is a God", "I have a purpose in life", etc...
I am an atheist myself. Sometimes I feel I've made the wrong choice. If I had the willpower to deceive myself into believing in something stupid, I think I would have been much more happy as a Hare Krishna, or something...

That may very well be the answer to unit all humanity. As human history has taught us that most of our sufferings and struggles came from religious indifference, If there is no religion, we can all work towards common goals of improving our understanding and pursue of universal truths rather than try to 'please' our so call gods.
As much as we like to wish this is the case, there are always people of ignorance that are easily swayed by what others tell them (either by their selfish reason or same ignorance), such as the Earth is flat, god created Adam and Eve, god created heaven and earth, so on and so forth. It is often these ignorant imbeciles combine with fanaticism that creates the conflicts that plague humanity through its history.

sounds like a version of having your head in the sand...if you can't see a problem, it must not exist
Can we view poverty this way? How about war? There aren't any wars going on when I look out my window, so there must be war, right?
the problem with this logic is that, as with war, God exists regardless of what we think or believe

Of Course ... All God/desses, no problem ... works too. In other words, don't try to push your beliefs onto others. Share if you are asked, but don't condemn, don't threaten, and for humanities sake, don't use God for tribal/cultural identity.

Im guessing it means... If there was no God we wouldn't have to worry about an eternity in Hell and we wouldnt have to worry about anyone to answer to in the end... But if there was no God there would be no us b/c God sent his son Jesus to die for our sins and let us be able to live today so without God, we would never exist!

No God= No Universe, No Life, No Existance, No Hope, No Peace, No Joy, No Purpose, No Morals, No Right 7 Wrong, No Punishment for evil, No reward for good, No Promise of Salvation, No Nothing...
So go ahead... sin, eat , drink and be marry, for tommorow we die and will have to answer for our every action, thought, and word....
"Hey God, We didn't know that you existed... um.... What can we say? our bad?"
God- with tears in His eyes will say" You had the whole universe of evidence, I gave you my Son so that you may live with me... But you chose not to believe in me... you chose to reject my son... and you chose to have nothing to do with me... so you chose to live without Me forever... I want you to stay, I love you... but you have made your decision... you have rejected Me and My Son... you have chosen Hell as your home.... Why? I gave you so many oppertunities to know me... but you passed up every one.... Why?"...
It is your choice... your life and soul to through away.... No one can force you to do anything....
I am praying for you... may God show you the Truth...
