Church is a place to be encouraged, fellowship with other believers, and learn more about the Bible and how to get closer to God, etc. Not all churches are good, and sadly, some actually make things worse, hurt people, and teach false doctrine.

I have a good friend who is a wonderful Christian and doesn't go to church and she feels personally it is best for her. I go to church every Sunday, and if I can't go cuz I'm sick or something, I can tell a difference. I really love my church and worshipping God corporately and listening to the sermons, etc, really encourage me. That and I love seeing people that go there.

Church also provides accountability. Why go to an aerobics class when you can do aerobics on your own? The class is fun, and it keeps you exercising, where if you were on your own, you'd be much more likely to slack off and quit. I can really relate to that. Church does the same thing. It keeps you on track with God.

Getting involved in a church is also a way to serve others and further the gospel, which God commands us to do. If church doesn't satify you, maybe you need to do your part to make it better if you aren't.

Yes I can worship on my own and that is what I do daily during the week....But
I cannot give myself Holy Communion. This is why I go to church.
The Mass is representative of the Last Supper. We all need that spiritual food to get us through the week because we live in a world that is full of anti-Christians.

This is true, but we are encouraged not to forsake fellowship with other Christians as part of our worship. Some part of it might be social reinforcement, but there is a camaraderie that develops when you gather with like-minded people and people who are experiencing the same things you are. It also provides an avenue for us to fill in knowledge gaps. In nations where we are free to worship and which are at least "culturally" of our religion, it may lose some of its seeming importance, but think about being a Chinese Christian, or an early Greek Christian surrounded by non-Christians, it would be easy to give up hope or lose faith without seeing others who are the same as you.

The Bible says, "do not forget the gathering of yourself together" meaning that in order to have the "best" chance possible to remain faithful in the world, its best to find those "like minded" and associate with them "in Christ" so that you have a fall-back in case of temptation or some other problem. You will have friends you can count on in hard days that will listen and understand your problems as a fellow christian.

Basically, its a security issue and a way to keep you safe.

Because religion is about more than just a relationship with God.. it is also about a relationship with each other. That can be achieved without attending church. But going to church can make it easier to relate to others, especially if you are relating to others about God, because that's one of the best places to find those people.

For fellowship, it's nice to be around others who love the Lord like you do. Also you learn new things about the teachings of Christ. A good church family is great to have.

You don't have to go to "church," but it is beneficial to worship in groups together.

Reference to this is found in Matthew 18:20

15 "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.

16 But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.

18 Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven.

19 Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."
