Aphrodite is one choice but what about an alternative - Kwan Yin. In Mythology she gave up Buddhahood because she heard the cries of the world and chose to stay close to help those in need.
There are numerous images of the Goddess around the world - Lakshmi is another nice option for good fortune (when coupled with Ganesh it says this pair "opens the way")

I do worship Aphrodite, thank you, and you don't get to the Elysian Fields unless you're a hero or otherwise Great Person. But then, you don't go to Tartarus unless you're a really arrogant and nasty person. But then, Hades isn't so bad. It's just a place and even so, it's just a resting place. A pause in the cycle of life. Punishments come in life, but I warn you, Aphrodite is a tempestuous mistress. No one punishes those who squander their gifts like She does.
All acts of love and pleasure are Her rituals.
And don't listen to that goofball up there that says that Greek Gods are jealous of one another. They don't fight over followers, how stupid is that? Only a very weak God would have to be jealous of another God's followers. I can teach you the Nature and the laws of Aphrodite, and the other Greek Gods, because very few worship only one, they just focus on one. Aphrodite is one of many to whom I give honor, and she's not the least bit jealous. You honor Aphrodite by giving yourself over to love, you anger her by cheating love. It's simple as that. Sex isn't even necessary, though many do chose to honor her in that way.

Well lets take this from a non-christian perspective first. If you choose to worship a Greek Pantheon God or Goddess you are going to have to Follow thier rules. Aphrodite was the goddess of Love that meant you HAD to adore her and follow certain rituals in all you did including sex and the Tithe to her temple was even higher than the 10 percent. Also if you are one of her worshippers you are now at war with a large percentage of the other Greek Pantheon this means Zeus will be hurling lightning bolts at you. Oh and do not go out to see Posiedon will sink your boat and Kill you. BTW not everyone who died worshiping Aphrodite went to the Fields ONLY HEROS the rest just went to Hades (hell) Are you a Hero? In order to qualify you must slay a Gorgon or something of that level (none left so you are out of Luck) I guess you will be going to hell even though you tried to be faithfull to her. So sad.
Why not simply accept the TRUE creator of the Universe his path is narrow but still easier to follow.

Or perhaps, Isis, the goddess of just about everything that a goddess would want to be goddess of?
Dear Infodude, you seem a little upset. Let me help you drift on the Nile and be at peace. I am sure you are a very kind and good person. We can hang up a sign: no gods allowed!

Does Aphrodite have a list of rules like the bible, kuran or torah? People do strange things in the name of love. If a man murders his wife because he loves her so much that he could not stand to see her in the arms of another man, is that ok with Aphrodite? What would be the consequence of breaking Aphrodites rules? I do not believe in Aphrodite so I can not worship her.

Don't be ridiculous why would any one want to worship a bloody rock and a false goddess, I don't think God would like like it, try reading what he says about worshipping false gods in the Bible.Antway Gos is love, how many times does he have to show it. Isn' it about time we showed him some love and respect for he has given and will continue to give us.

Sorry my Goddess trumps yours - Freyja - Goddess of love, sex, fertility, beauty and war.
She owned BrÃsingamen after being a sacred whore to dwarfs, she owned a coat of feathers that enabled her to travel between worlds, she was a witch, she cried tears of gold at the loss of her partner Od, she shared the fallen of the battlefield with Odin, she owned a battle swine and a chariot drawn by four male cats the size of lions…worshipping Freyja should get you into Folkvang if you fall in battle as a hero…living in halls of Viking warriors.

Why Aphrodite? She's no less vindictive than most other deities, and she's too singleminded. Love and lust is good but I like my god to be able to shoot lightning our of his/her fingers. If you're going to go all Hellenic then why not go for Hephaestus or Hestia? Both fine and honorable choices.

A goddess of love would be nice, but God that is Love is better.
