If you feel lust, infatuation AND can't stop thinking about that person. You're in love.
The constant thinking about a person is the clue.
If you get butterflies in your stomach when you see or think about that person, it is DEFINITLEY love.

If you refrain from sex then you will know. If you both "love" eachother then you will keep sex as the last thing you do. Then you will know. Lust is a sexual appetite and infatuation can be the starts of love but getting to know eachother as friends and a couple first would be the first step. Even though sex is tempting and "lust" thoughts may come to mind, you wont really know it is love unless you keep yourself from having sex at this point in the relationship or you will learn the hard way and feel no respect afterwards from your partner and about yourself if you do. Good Luck hope this helped--

I guess 'love' develops from a strong friendship; you love the other person' personality, their mind, not just their body.
Infatuation is love that isn't returned. It's one way.
Lust is do with physical attraction

Love is given to the heart by God..Lust is from satan..If you see a woman/girl and think of all you would love to do to her then hun that is lust and will never work..Lust will probably get what you want but then you will crave it from others you find attractive..always look at a girls/womans heart and not her looks for the looks will fade in time but the heart shows the persons true self...Dont rush ,,allow God to help you with your choice..God be with you

You can become infatuated with anyone. A lot of people believe they are in love the first time it happens.
When you meet someone new and you find that you are attracted to them, and you can't get them out of your head and all you can think about is being in their arms, and doing whatever it takes to get them to like you too...it's probably infatuation.
Love grows over time. It isn't going to suddenly change one day because you found out something you didn't like about them or they cut their hair different, gained weight, etc... You'll be able to be yourself around someone that you are truly in love with.

Imagine yourself never having sex with that person again.
If that's OK, then it's love or infatuation. If you're like, "But I'm horny now!" it's lust.
As to how to tell the difference between infatuation and love...well, I'm still infatuated with my girlfriend, so maybe the difference doesn't matter that much.

Lust and infatuation don't last all that long. Love lasts much longer.

Lust = Just want to have sex
Infatuation = Highly impressed with a particular atribute of a person...however, feelings fade over time and it becomes "lack-luster".
Love = An unconditional feeling to care for a person eternaly regardless of anything else.
