Out of all the kids I go to school with, none of them hunt or fish. They have never even gone camping, and not even a campfire! What is going on? What about the hunting heritage?

I think it all depends on were your located! If you live in the city you will never really see the hunting heritage you speak of. If you live in the country and your family has always hunted then it becomes your life. You plan around hunting season you get out of school for a couple days and it is more of a family thing.

Wow, its alive and well where we live. Just about half the kids in this town hunt, fish and camp. Go to the schools (from Kindergarten-12) and most of the kids have camo on and its not to make a fashion statement. During hunting season, the seniors who are 18 can get a special permit to leave school for half a day to go hunt. A lot of the mills and manufacturing plants around here go on half day schedules or shut down for the first three days of deer season.

I live in rural NE so many people here hunt and fish...but I would guess that more and more people just feel that there is no need anymore....if the parents don't hunt then the kids are rarly exposed to the sport....It is just a cycle....I know I will teach my kids to hunt and hopefully they will do the same to there...I am going to do my part to teach the next generation about the ethics and tradition of the sport.

With a growing inhabitants pushing extra from city elements, there are lots of less and a lot less deepest searching elements, causing further and extra hunters to apply public lands. the different problem is that hunters are not sharing the adventure with others. i opt to pass with someone on a hunt, purely to work out what's in contact once an animal is harvested. I watch more than a number of searching shows and browse outside mags. i comprehend what to do as a lot because the point the position I pull the set off, yet I even do not comprehend what to do with the animal after that.

It is the responsibility of all sportsman to pass on this heritage. Take a kid hunting. If you don't have a kid, take a niece, nephew, cousin,or even take a kid from your neighborhood. We have to bring youngsters into our sport or it will have no support. We must protect our rights and with no younger generations of hunters it will die. I urge all of you, introduce anyone you can to hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. I look forward to spending time with my stepson this season and I hope you will do the same.

the thing about hunting is someone must take the time to show what hunting is all about,its not just going out and shooting something,its observing nature.nowdays if it hasnt got an on switch bells and whistles kids dont want anything to do with it.

Because there is nothing to hunt anymore. The wildlife has been depleted by irresponsible hunters. What is a campfire for when forest fires are common occurence?

It all starts with the parents, we have to get our children involved with outdoor activities. They will be more apt to protect the wildlife if they get involved it it. i think it is important to teach our children how to live off the land, whether it be from gardening, fishing or hunting. Do you want to keep a child off the streets, get them involved, take them hunting.

because other hunters won't take them. Take a child hunting and the police won't hunt that child. Take a child fishing and rescue teams won't fish for his body.

the dont hunt or fish cause there ******* gay and sit on there computers. theres 3 things that i love to do skate board HUNT AND FISH im 13 and i love it
