Not really. Such platitudes usually are meaningless. Is a combat veteran who got paralyzed from his war and is so shellshocked (oh wait, they call it "battle fatigue" now) that he has to drink himself to sleep every night "stronger" for not having died? I know such a person. Again, as all platitudes and quippy slogans, that is rot.

Absolutely. As a Christian, I believe that God allows us to go through bad things for a reason. If our life was easy, we would not develop strong faith. We also wouldnot know how to handle any type of adversity or seek to understand. I also beleive that we go through these things because it's the best way to learn how to overcome bad things in your life.

If I had not gone through a rough time in my career, I would not have returned to school. This is to help me to know how to help people in other shoes.

Well, that comment has always struck me as relating to practice in the Middle Ages of trying to consume small amounts of poison to build up a tolerance. (I really don't know if that is the history of this comment of not.)

When we have trials to endure, we have our free will on how to react. It is after the trial of our faith (the refining process) that we strengthen our relationship with the Lord.

No. That is including a lot of territory, even some unknown. Also that which might be against the laws of GOD. Living ones life to the fullest through foolishness will accomplish killing in one form or another. Wise choices make one stronger in all ways, especially in wisdom.......

Absolutely.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 (NIV)

Whether good or bad the experience, we all go thru things to help the next one along who goes thru the same thing. If we never fall , how we gonna learn to walk?

The idea sounds right; however, sometimes that thing that doesn't kill you CAN break your spirit, trust, and/or faith and for some people may make you weaker.
