Grab it by the scruff of it's neck and throw it down to the ground and hold it and tell it "NO!" whenever it is being unruly. This is how other dogs communicate with one another. Do not hit the dog. This means nothing to the dog and makes it neurotic.
You be the boss and act like the boss and the dog will figure it out soon.

Puppy or grown dog- if they are a bully they need to go to training school right now.I put it off with my one mastiff, cuz I "thought it was cute when she was the baby and growled at the other dogs" Well, she got to be 160 lbs. of a growling *****, and I had to take her to school, or my husband wanted to get rid of her, cause she was scary. She's better now, still the alpha, but controlled and more polite. Don't screw up like I did. It's not cute, and it does not go away. Good Luck.

Try training. It doesn't respect you or your home, and won't until you teach it who the boss is. Just a thought, how old is it, what breed, and are you home most of the time with it?
Watch Dog whisperer on National Geographic and use some of his ideas. He is very smart and knows what he's doing.
Remember- YOU ARE THE BOSS OF YOUR DOG- not the other way around.
