Your so lucky to have such caring and thoughtful advise. All the people who are telling you that it is best when an adult, are right. How forturnate you are to able to not make the same mistakes that some of us might have. Like me. I started at age 14, waaaay tooo early. I wish to God that I would have waited until later in life. I was not ready, although I was very mature for my age. But not mature enough. Having sex that early in life puts the focus off yourself and onto the "boy". Being a teenager is a time to find yourself and to gain indepence, confindence and self-esteem, all of which will/ can be damaged if not attended to.

Age has alot to do with it and so does maturity...It hurts me how young people take sex so lightly these days..there is so much more important things ...Like Love,,friendships,,family...Dont be in any rush...Trust those who have been there...Wait till you are old enough and have experienced life as a joy...Wait till you find the man that God has created you to be with for that is when you will be fulfilled...Sex is thrown around like a tool and is not the way God intended for it to be..Please think of consequences before you jump...God bless

I don't know that I would give a definite age but I will say this...sex has some very adult consequences and if you are not adult enough to handle what may happen than you probably are not the right age yet.

Wow, tough question. Your body feels ready so much younger than your mind will be. Even if your mind FEELS ready, it often isn't. And, of course, everyone matures at different rates. The problem is that we're maturing physically faster and mentally slower than ever before.

I'd recommend waiting until 18. I don't know that you HAVE to wait for "true love," but I would definitely recommend waiting for someone you really care about, and who seems to really care about you. Trust me, that'll be MUCH better, both at that time and in the long run, than just some schmo who wants to hit and run.

At least 18 or 20 years old. Anything younger than that is just too immature for sex and I think wrong.

When you can fully grasp the finer details of ALL the things that can go wrong and are mentally prepared for things to go wrong rather then expect a smooth ride. Have you been anywhere this week in your travels where you didn't encounter "a bump in the road" ?

No less then 17 in most cases. Some people mature faster and are ready sooner, some people are better off doing so in college, 19-22.
Some people are never ready for sex.
But whatever you do, whenever you do it, be cognizant of birth control and STD's.

When you get married. You're supposed to save your virginity until you get married, and share that experience with your partner. There is no such age for starting to have sex.

When you realize that no contraceptive method is 100%, neither are condoms from preventing STDs. And you accept the responsibility of what could happen if the girl ended up pregnant.
