I've heard of that mythological person. Her name means, Earth. I don't think the hemisphers have anything to do with it.

1) Have you heard of Gaia, that the Earth is a living thing? Yes.

2) Is spirit mind? Hegel would have said yes. I have my doubts.

3) And the Earth a mind? That seems unlikely.

4) Like the Western Hemisphere being logical, and the Eastern Hemisphere being mystical? Both hemispheres are both logical and mystical.

Gaia, is physically the earth and a goddess in the ancient Greek tradition. She created the sky, and together they had many children, which were the Titans. From the Titans came Gods and monsters, and eventually humans.

There are movements in ecology now that invoke Gaia again to see the world as a living thing that we need to take care of; it might be called Gaia ecology, but I'm not sure. It's based on ecosystems and biospheres and how everything is interrelated.

This really isn't new stuff, it's common in some "pagan" religions to believe that the earth is living. And, science recognizes that much of the world is alive (plants, animals).

I don't think things like this should shake faith in other religions, however, if it's something you're curious about, the internet has lots of great resources. yahoo search, i'm sure is fine, but, google too, is good.

I've heard of it, but I don't believe it. Besides, even assuming for a moment that the earth is alive and aware, there is NO reason to think that it would be a giant brain, with hemispheres and nerves and such. That's a huge stretch.

Yes I have heard of it and I think it's true, I hadn't heard about the different hemispheres being differ ant aspects though. Interesting.

It's real simple.
Everything GOD Create's has HIS LIFE in it or it Couldn't Exist.
I didn't say it had GOD's MIND in it, Just HIS LIFE.

JESUS is the Word. The Word is Alive. GOD use's Word's to Create Stuff.
And the WORD became FLESH and DWELT Among'st us.
Your Deal.

The earth goddess. To try to pin her down and classify her is fruitless. She is who she is.
