Why are there no nail salons at airports? It seems like it would be a great idea to have them - especially since people are being told to arrive at least 3 hours prior to their flights & passengers have to now take their shoes off during the security checks.

Actually my husband came up with this question. When we go away we usually take late flights (around 10pm) - and are stuck in the airport for hours beforehand (we like to have dinner at the airport before our flights).

That is a really good question. There should be! Think of all the money they would make while people are waiting for flights!

Here is a lady that is trying it: http://www.tennessean.com/business/archives/03/12/44465544.shtml?Element_ID=44465544

Like anyone would have time to get there nails done at an air port when they have like 20 minutes to get on their plane lol, but good idea though. Also sometimes peoples flight can be late and it may be alot of money to build one.

They try to make airports have that professional image, getting your nails done in a hurry doesnt give that image. The smell would make people upset and have headaches, it will never happen, plus you have to get to the airport that early to check in and get through security. half of the things that they have at a nail salon would NOT be allowed past security.

Yeah,, that's good! How did you notice that? Do you travel often?
Usually, from my own experiences: Asian countries have some great nail salons at their aorports. Like in Korea and Thailand!

In nail salons there is alcohol and paint. Both of which are extremely flammable. Plus sometimes there are those spray painting things for French tips. Those are aerosol and could probably light alcohol on fire.

That would be a great idea, especially if there are foot massages included.
