I have a announcement to make! Unless your an American Indian. We're all immigrants! Because your great or great great grandparents came from somewhere else! Others deserve the help up and the protection from tyranny too! Yes I know we can't take them all in but the good people who come here hopeing to make a new and better start in life deserve that. Those who aren't looking for that are either sneeking in ilegally or comming under assumed circumstances. But we can't shut out the whole world for one or two bad apples here and there! And as I said If we sent home all the immigrants - well, the first residents of this country would have a hay day! which country would you end up going home to? I have 6 or 7 in my blood line!

The main reason is cheap labour, e.g. a girl from Thailand was recently found to be working a 48 hour 6 day week for a take home pay of £70.00.
The reason people were give a British passport from the former colonies was to prevent them going to the former Soviet Union or China for economic aid and this country losing a cheap labour market, charity was not on the agenda it was purely market forces.
As for terrorism, well if Bush, Blair and others had not interfered in the middle east terrorism would not exist.

I think the question you've asked isn't open enough, the question should be if we never had less human rights in these countries would we suffer from terrorism. I personally don't think we would. Human rights has left us open to alot, an terrorism isn't the only thing. In how many other countries would a person be allowed to abuse children and yet they are sheltered from harm. I do think some human rights we have are a good thing but are we taking it to far? We may developed countries but i believe there is over development and we've reached that point

I don't think it's quite "allowed" as you put it, don't think Blair 'let them do it'.
What about the IRA? Should we have stopped fellow Brits from Northern Ireland coming to the UK too?
Stupid observation, stupid idea, stupid person.
If you needed a life saving operation, was burgled or you went to the pharmacy for medication etc, I suppose you would tell the 'immigrant' GP, Police Officer, Pharmacist you don't want their help wouldn't you? NO YOU BLOODY WELL WOULDN'T.
If it wasn't for immigration our economy would be in a mess, we can't get enough 'indigenous' doctors and nurses to cope with demand.

You may be confusing illegal immigration with legal immigration. However in this case I believe all of the individuals involved had been born in the UK to parents who had immigrated legally. I would rather not deport all of the children of immigrants because that would include most of us. My family fled England in 1637 because of a religious conflict and they did not have permission from the government in England or the land to which they fled (currently called the USA). Should I be sent back?

The Killers on 911 that flew into the trade center and so were not Immigrates they were mostly here on Expired Student Visa's. The US is a melting pot of folks. my family came from the Germany in the 1800's. and unless your Native American - Indian your from immigrant family as well and for that matter we all are from the Garden of Eden...
As a people we need to all become more involved with watching out for our own safety. If you see something thats not right speak to law enforcement... Its the radical people that are these killers.

The answer is not to stop all immigration, but to clamp down on illegal immigration ... if people are screened and have their backgrounds checked, you at least stand a better chance of knowing who is who ... and for those who keep saying that the latest British terrorists were British citizens, yes, that's true ... first generation anchor baby citizens, and not an English name among them ....

I choose the united kingdom. My mom is Scots and my dad American. I honestly have fond thoughts in united statesa., having visited my father contained in the summers, yet my house is and could consistently be contained in the united kingdom. i've got faith safer right here too, and sense that usual, Brits are friendlier than human beings. i think of it somewhat is somewhat basically nostalgia for me. definite, uk has it somewhat is problems like another united states of america, yet whilst in comparison with US's problems, ours i think of are much less demanding. i think of my best criticism in regards to the united kingdom is the climate.

Its not the immigrants its the hate that there is in this world. there is too much of it we should all stand up and fight up and make peace with one another instead of all of these extreemests trying to take action we the innocent people killed. most of us are immigrants! its just a few bad people who beleive that the answer to evil is violence when it is not is is love, fairness and equality! if we were all the same there would be no reason to hate no reason to kill innocent people! sure some people will still hate but when they see the love in the world they will soon begin to learn to love and not to hate!

WOW... That was the stupidest thing I've ever heard. That is clearly not the solution. And this whole thing is blown out of scale in any case. Political stunt, plus some really bad government tactics.
