No, I have never heard about this. But a quick google search yields the following page:
http://www.av1611.org/666/www_666.html
According to the page, in hebrew, they lack numerals, so letters are used as numerals. And the hebrew letter that is most similar to the english letter w, also denotes the numeral 6.
The page also has an explanation for why www isn't denoting antichrist. You can read it if you want. I have a different explanation. Using numbers in "magical" ways, you can come up with almost anything. For example: I wake up at 7 in the morning. I use subway #5. 5+7 = 12. I read 6 pages before I reach my destination. 12+6 = 18. It is three stops before I end up at my workplace: 18 / 3 = 6. Or: 6+6+6. I must be antichrist. Duh!

The number value for W = 5 So, WWW totals 15 = 6. It is the BAR CODE that has the 666.

Yeah I heard that too. Actually WWW stands for World Wide Web but some guy speculated it as 666 because the letter "W" also looked like the Roman numeral 6 which looked like this "V/". I dont know if it has any connection to the number of the beast...

Oh my, I have not seen this since late 1999 during the Y2k scare. It was some Christian nonsense that "proved" that all the computers, embedded chips, et-al, were the tools of the devil and that at 00:00:01 1-1-00 we would be back in the stone age. Didn't happen ... as you can tell. If I remember right (and it was some seven years ago when I first looked into it) there is no W in roman numerology. No, all WWW stands for is World Wide Web.

i think 666 has a much deeper message behind it. In the book of revelations it says that any man who has can comprehend these numbers or something like that hear now that 666 is the mark of the beast. i personally have heard alot of different ideas on what it means, but if its in the bible and its not portrayed as something good for mankind then it cant be anything good obviously. On the other hand it might be something that man invents seeing as 6 is the number of man. i really dont know i think we should all pray and keep God close in our lives.

Okay, I'll try to provide an alternative legitimate answer, but I want the 10 points okay? I beleive you may be getting confused with the numbers "boobledy ****" that was contrived some five years ago surrounding the word "COMPUTER" If a=6. b=12, c=18, & so on, if you add up the letters they add up to (you guessed it) 666. Of course we could probably find umpteem words that do the same thing... go figure... I know my answer came closest to what your seeking so give me my 10 points!

Sounds some more scandalistic nonsense.
I imagine you are referring here to the concept of 666 being the number of the "beast"... a medieval tradition that already makes little sense, and has more of the superstition than of the religion - even if religion interests you.
The goriest details, the scary stuff always hit the imagination, and urban legends thrive around this.
Best to ignore them.
