However, from his answer came another question! Does his answer prove that the Bible contradicts itself?
Genesis 11
1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
******************************...
However, one Chapter earlier this is said about the separation of Noahs family after the flood:
***********************************
Gen 10: 4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim and the Rodanim. 5 From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.
Gen. 10:31 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
What does this mean?

The bible is full of contradictions and illogical things. Think of it as a poorly written fairy tale.

No for each example some gave-you will find a reason. The book was to be read as a whole. some facts are stated later. If a policemen took five testimonies from five people(all telling the truth) they may sound different but usually the facts fall in place. Each writer of the bible has his own style. Throughout the ages no one has disproved the Bible although many would like too. And many genius have tried and not been able to. And so far its prophecies to this point all have come true-unlike others.

Matt 24:25, Mark 13:30, Luke 24:32 ". . . this era shall no longer pass until eventually at last those sort of issues be achieved." Jesus replaced into telling his disciples that "temple could be destroyed, wars, calamities, fake prophets, and then he could seem above the cloud in triumph for the duration of the tip days, earlier the dying of his disciples." those sort of have been reiterated in each and every of the three gospels. yet his disciples died 2000 years in the past. end days did no longer happen, and Jesus lied approximately it or the gospel writers lied approximately it. in spite of the case, that's the main suitable contradiction of all. because of the fact Jesus isn't a god in any different case how ought to a god be incorrect approximately his very own prophecy? Or the bible is in hassle-free terms a e book of lies! EDIT: do no longer attempt to apply sophistry on online communicate board. THIS era talked in regards to the era of his disciples, and there is not any different meaning. Such denials as quickly as returned proves that Christians lie basically to justify their god.

Like anything passed along it gets edited and translation is a source of errors too. Modern Christianity makes a big deal about the King James version as being the accurate one but the version James had done substituted church wherever the earlier version had congregation (see Geneva Bible). SInce the king is the head of the church do you understand why he did this? LOL

the Bible never contaradicts itself: I think what may be confusing you is the (word) "language", as translated in some bible editions.the word"tongue"is
used in most translations.tongue meaning dialect,as in,different dialects
peculiar to a region or people. for instance-there are several dialects of the
chinese language.its the same language just a different dialect.so maybe
thats whats confusing you.the Bible is consistant thru & thru.

All Religious texts contunue to contradict itself, depending on the mood of the writer. Most of these people who wrote the scriptures would be locked up in padded rooms if they existed today.

It's completely contradictory. Were these others who spoke other languages left overs from the flood, and where did all these clans come from.

These are the children who would be born, and would be split into languages. Sometimes, the Torah will finish a story, even if the next story starts earlier in time.
