The basic problem is that the 'big bang' is much less satisfying as a causa prima than God. If you say, "First there was nothing, then there was something", you are really begging the question of how this is possible (why did this coin-flip happen to come up 'existence' instead of 'nothingness'). In other words the unspoken reply is "Have FAITH that someday we will figure that out. Right now we have no more idea than a fish does of a frying pan." On the other hand, an infinite, timeless God can do anything that is possible, so one need not appeal to faith in the obviously limited capacities of mankind, only faith in God. I do agree that we don't know the exact mechanism of how God brought everything into being, but given that the Bible is his word, we should give it some credit as to what it does say about the matter. To me it takes a LOT more faith to believe the universe is a coin-flip than to believe it is the will of God. God is a better final appeal than a coin.

As Christian have no problem with the big bang theory itself. As a matter of fact based on Genesis it's quite possible the big bang occurred before the creation story. The Creation story only talks about the creation of Heaven and Earth.

The Big Bang theory leaves our existence up to chance and haphazardnous.
Do you honestly think that as intricate as the human body is (only one species among the millions of living creations) that we could have been put together just by chance.
The likelihood of that would be like throwing a million decks of cards into the air and all of them falling into the same pattern.
It's impossible.
Of the millions of cells in the human body, God designed each one for a specific purpose and plan.
You owe your ability to not pee your pants to a specific cell that God created in your bladder that has the ability to stretch when you bladder fills with fluid. Happen by chance? dont think so
Take that one cell and mulitply it by a few million and you get nothing less than a miracle created by the most awesomely intelligent and brilliant Creator, God.

You have it a bit mixed up. God created everything in 6 days, not immediately. He made day and night on day 1, land and water on 2, plants and vegetation on 3, birds and fish on 4, animals on 5, man on 6 and rested on day 7. God did make everything but he did it in a specific order. Evolutionists believe the earth went BOOM and everything was made and eventually evolved. They also have all this crap that the earth is 1.4 billion years old and other crap like that. God made everything in his glory and according to science, evelution falls into nothing. Pick up one of Dr. Jay L. Wile's books and see why.

I am a Christian and I have no problem with the Big Bang. I would think that those who do not believe in God would, though, because it had to be caused by something. May God bless and keep you.

I am a Christian, and I have never argued the point. The bible tells me God created the heavens and earth. It does not, however, tell me how he went about it. Therefore, maybe the Big Bang is a legitimate theory.

I believe that the Big Bang Theory is just a place holder for the real theory. Science obviously hasn't found said theory yot because it is currently outside of their ccapabilities to find.
I think the main thing everybody forgets about science is that it's just a collection of theories, many of which have practical uses. I see so many Atheists that are willing to believe (or pretend to believe) everything they read from a science textbook simply because they think that it is the only alternative to believing in GOD.

Where did the nothingness you spoke of come from? God could do it anyway He chose. Who knows! No one but God was there at the time.
