I don't think anyone has seen God in his/her true form. I think it would be too much for a person to handle.

The men translating the bible were men and not the prophets. The language was difficult and many words had many different meanings. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we have the Joseph Smith Translation of Exodus 33: 20. It states this: And he said unto Moses, Thou canst not see my face at this time, lest mine anger be kindled against thee also, and I destroy thee, and thy people; for there shall no man among them see me at this time, and live, for they are exceeding sinful. And no sinful man hath at any time, neither shall there be any sinful man at any time, that shall see my face and live.

I think you have to consider the context of every scripture, none can be taken out of context or there will be many that contradict each other...

I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his son,Jesus Christ. He spoke with them, face to face...The Father pointed to His Son and said to Joseph, "This is my Beloved Son, hear him."

I do believe there are people who have seen God. For example: "Christina Gallagher" accepted willingly to become an instrument for God. Mother Mary and Jesus have appeared to her for many years now, giving her messages for all religious denominations. She also suffers from stigmata (willingly). In one of her books she clearly states that Jesus showed her purgatory, hell and heaven. She said that God looked like his son Jesus but with older features & white hair.
I know alot of you are thinking "yeah right" but just go check out her sight: ChristinaGallagher.com

i am not one to cause contriversy in religion, and i do not want to stir contriversy with this response...

i myself believe in god, others to decide on their religious beliefs is completly fine with me, but really, is there a god, does god hear every single persons prayer and wish, if there was a man/woman/something/someone as powerful as god, wouldnt anyone who seeks help from god, have their wish granted, why do so many people die each year from disease, murder, if god exists why not make the world a better place,

to answere your question, i do not think people come face to face with god, but after a life changing moment one may believe he has seen god, and it is only his imagination looking for answeres of the unknown

yes!and no!the identity of God needs to be protected,if not people will turn up with the description some day and claim they are God.why worry about the identity?lets concern our self with the capabilities of God,that enough is a attribute that sets him apart.try asking about the devil instead?

You look like you read a lot of the old testiment so why didnt you put that he created us in his shape. We look like GOD so you have seen his face everytime you look at someone. New testiment his spirt is within us so everything we do he is watching us as we stare at the heavens.

No one has see God in all His glorious splendor, the full essence of His being. He has allowed certain people to get glimpses of Him as you have shown.
