He just called and said he's on his way. He'll be at your place in 10 minutes, so go put your clothes back on. Oh, and he said he's bringing beer.

No, but that doesn't keep people from thinking they know when it is anyway.

Charles Taze Russell, founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses would have laid down his life defending his belief that Jesus had returned to the earth (invisibly) in 1874. After much speculation and conjecture, he summed it up by saying:

"Calculate and you will see that these two lines of evidence, which so perfectly unite in the testimony that 1875 (beginning October AD 1874) is the date of the beginning of the Times of Restitution and the date, therefore, from which we may know that the heavens no longer contain our Lord, the Great Restorer"

This teaching, so dear to Pastor Russell's heart, was gradually changed after his death, to the year of 1914. In 1943, the 1914 date became official in print, although it was not acknowledged that 1874 had been in error. The teaching that the heavens 'no longer retain our Lord" has also been replaced by the Witnesses' present belief that Jesus, although already 'returned', is still in heaven and never did come back to the earth, either in 1914 or 1874. Both teachings are referred to as "truth" until they're changed; then the abandoned teaching is referred to as "old light". (It sounds better than saying "darkness".)

The bible says no man will know the exact date but there will be signs on the earth and in the heavens to tell us when His return is near.
Read Matthew Chapter 24.
God bless

The Gospel of John is pretty explicit that Jesus would return again before the Apostle John died of old age. (Jn 21:21-23) The Mormons noticed this and so there was a story that John had not died but is still kicking around and hiding somewhere.

So Jesus is now 2000 years late but moving fast, more or less.

Yes, many places it gives a timeframe but not the day or hour. Jesus returned in judgment just like when God judged nations with other nations in the old testament. Jesus returned in 70AD when Jerusalem and the old covenant temple were destroyed by the Romans.

The bible says many things and Jesus return is not one of them, they new that when they wrote it, man waits for something that simply will not happen, one simply has to know that Jesus is dead just like those before him and all those after him, death is our greatest mystery that's why we pray to God, it is our own fear of the unknown that brings us to worship some one or some thing.

It doesn't give a date, but it gives plenty of prophecies that have to be fulfilled that lead to when it will happen. A lot of the prophecies have been already fulfilled. Check out a prophecy Bible. It explains what he means in each prophecy and if it has happened yet. I use the John Hagee Prophecy Bible.
