There is this guy I've liked for going on 3 years and I know he's told people we were friends. We danced at one of our school dances (casual). There are also a lot of other girls that like him and one even hates me for liking him. I know him pretty well and he is a great guy i just don't know if i should ask him out cuz they say guys are supposed to make the first move. Should I ask him or no?

Stop worrying about what other people say or think. This is about you and what you want. If you don't make a first move then how are you ever going to know what might have been. What if he sees you as just a friend because he thinks that is how you see him so he doesn't make a first move. If you like someone take a chance and find out or you may spend the rest of your life wondering what might have been.

Certainly! Don't let traditional gender roles keep you from doing as your heart wishes. For all you know, it could be that he's been thinking about asking YOU out, but hasn't gotten up the courage yet.
Invite him to a movie, to hang out at Starbucks, something relaxed and casual so that he won't feel any pressure. That way you can get a better idea of what vibes he's sending out.
If that goes well, you can say, "I had a lot of fun tonight...Would you like to do it again?"
And have fun with it! The worst thing that could happen is that he could say no. Good luck, sweetie.

I think you should ask him. Given the circumstances, I have a very good feeling about this. If you still have second thoughts about telling him how you feel, I only have a little bit of advice from experience:
Just ask. I know by over-analyzing the situation that I see that the cons outweigh the pros (even when they don't). Just let go of your fears and tell him. From fear, I have lost courage in telling how I feel about a close friend.
You should say that you have known him for a very long time, and with that, you feel that you have gotten really close with him, and that you want to take the relationship to the next level from friends to a serious relationship. Good luck!

If you like then I say go for it. The worst thing is to have feelings for someone and years go by with out you saying how you feel. I know guys suppose to make the first move but sometimes us men can be a little slow at picking up hints. Sometimes it's better to be honest, I wish u the best.

ask him...for all you know, he might be harbouring a soft corner for you as well but he just may not have the balls to tell you...
even if it doesnt come out as expected, you would still have gained: this way you would atleast know for sure and the painful dilly - dallying would be over...

It depends. Are you hot? If not, you may want to make like an ostrich and bury your head in the ground.

If he wants you, he'll come and get you. If he doesn't, he doensn't want you. Remember this and it should save you some heartache. Never ask a man out.

I think that you better ask him before you lose your chance of being with him. You might not ever get another chance like it anymore.
