In another thread, "WhynotaskDon" claimed that those who have never learned about Christianity go immediately to heaven; that only those who reject your religion go to hell.

Does this mean that, if you're a poor example of Christianity and do a lousy job witnessing to others, that you're condemning untold numbers of otherwise-good people to hell just because you're so incompetent at getting your message across?

Thanks a lot, Xians.....

If you Christians are REALLY that interested in saving souls, doesn't it then stand to reason you'd be doing a lot more good if you'd just STFU?

well "WhynotaskDon" is wrong (sorry dude) but the fact is that all humans are born and live with knolage that there is a God. Thats why it's a Christians job to go spread the word, to help them find the God that they know is there.

For those who say there is no God, they've managed to convince themselves otherwise. Their own fault.

I don't believe a Believer is a poor example of ANYthing. We are just sinners saved by grace trying to make it in the world just like you.
We make mistakes like you, we still have feelings like you, we still eat the same as you....etc....we are not different than you, we just have someone to get us thru the day that makes the difference.

The "lousy" job being in the ear of the hearer.....
We CAN NOT condemn anyone to hell, what gives us that power?
We are NOT incompetent at getting the message of a loving God across........you aren't listening. You just don't want to give up your sin.....

I wouldn't do too many of those crossing out the name of Christ, you might lose those fingers you do it with. Is that what it takes to get you to listen?
If so, you are looking for signs and wonders and the wonder of it all is God still loves you.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Romans 1:20-23

I disagree with Don.

LOL. that is the most interesting question ive read yet. i guess a lot of christians would have to agree with that. But i think in reality of Christianitys belief, if God is forgiving and merciful and loving as they claim he wont send people to hell due to another person incompetance. i think he will look inside people not at what the outside of them claims. and for you who disagree with that, u can basically say God isnt as loving or merciful as u claim and that the Bible is lying.

The real answer is: we don't know.

I should hope not, I'm not a great public speaker. From what I've read, the only way to be condemded is to make the choice to reject God.

See, this is all going to depend on how you define heaven and hell. Hell to me, and to many Catholic Christian theologians, is the absence of God. The only way to go to hell is to completely, totally, voluntarily turn your back to God and die in that state. God doesn't send us to hell - we do it to ourselves.

Mind you, when I say "God" here, I don't mean religion. I mean God's own self - the universal good, the creator, the source of all life. So if someone has never heard of God as the Christians know God, has never heard of Jesus, but has lived a good life doing his or her best, that person is NOT going to be sent to hell. Likewise, if someone is baptized but later does everything in his or her power to deny God and act in evil ways, yeah, that person might send him/herself to hell.

Can one repent after death? Only God knows that. My feeling is that they can, but they won't go straight to heaven - God makes us all be accountable for our deeds, even with God's infinate love and forgiveness.

those who will go to hell are the one's who reject God...God will judged us surely, its not for us to judge, but then christians duty is to share salvation to others and not keep it for ourselves...But once you are saved, you are always saved and God will never turn His back on you...you might make mistakes, or let God go, but He'll never will let u go once u have the salvation through Jesus Christ!!!
