FYI/ News Flash:

My mum has talked to herself for years - she'll be hoovering the house and having full conversations with herself. She also has no sense of decorum or discretion and often speaks before she thinks (during a two minute silence for the victims of the boxing day tsunami she said LOUDLY "this is for them people in that drought isn't it?") too. Plus, she says things like " You remember Rita - we met her in 1974 at Clacton ( I was born in 71) - you know - her with the leg!" Sometimes she's like a dog with a bone and will not let loose if she's on a subject as well. The most recent one being my wedding. I said I didn't want a veil - but for weeks she's been showing me pictures of veils.. Oh, and she never listens. Recently, I told her I HATE Soduku puzzles and anything maths based. The next day she buys me a huge twin pack of soduku puzzles and maths puzzle books!
Sigh...
LOL .. mothers - who'd have em eh?
ps.. I'm sure my daughter would whinge about me too!

You are not alone. I used to think that my mom was nuts just by virtue of the fact that she was diagosed with schizophrenia. When I shared with a coworker some of the things my mom would say or do and tell her my reasoning, she would say, "No, my mom's crazy, too. You're just lucky to have a medical explanation for yours." Just remember that at some point, your mother will do things just to push your buttons.

it incredibly is the way it is going with me and my lot too. :S For some reason, perhaps it incredibly is her mannerisms, perhaps it incredibly is only the way she says it, I seem to respond very negatively to issues my MiL says. And sure, regardless of if it incredibly is the comparable issues my mom might say. the only component i will think of of is that by way of fact it is not likely my place to maintain my MiL in her place, it makes me cranky. reason i won't be ready to tell her to butt out as certainly as i will my own mom. additionally, the historic previous of the dating makes me mistrustful of my in rules. i discover them to be social ignoramuses. And on each occasion i do communicate something with my in rules, regardless of in the event that they are agreeing with what i only mentioned, they respond in a fashion that makes it sound like they think of i'm an fool and what i mentioned grow to be completely incorrect.

Yes mine is. I see her as a reincarnation of Mary Poppins. I mean she's an absolute clean freak and it drives me bonkers, plus she acts like she's always right and never wrong and if you dare correct her you better run to the nearest exit.

If she has truly all of the sudden changed, and her behavior seems abnormal, compulsive or not with her personality, consult a doctor. She may be suffering from dementia, or altheimers onset.
