Why as women do we get so offended when men look at porn then we go right back to our Romance Novels? In a way they're just as sexual and graphic! I don't think it's right how we make a stink then do that, it seems as though somethings missing there! Anyone else notice this or have thoughts on this?

a lot of women view the novels as 'literary' so it's art, but if you really look some of that is HORRIBLY written.
I don't like women who act like that... I don't care if my man watches porn as long as he watches me too! as long as its not scary children/beastiality things or an obsession

In my humble opinion it's all good. No one's getting hurt. You CAN argue that porn is harmful because the girls in it don't know they're being taken advantage of, but that's paternalistic crap in my opinion. You can also argue that it makes men expect all women to act that way, which is valid. Similarly valid, though, is that reading romantic novels may lead to expecting men to act that way. And we're not gonna. So both equally potentially harmful if used by non-adults. As long as you know that the characters in the novel, magazine or movie are not real people, it's all good clean fun.

I think the biggest difference is that a romance novel is printed words, and not a picture or video. When a woman reads a romance novel it is all about what is in her imagination, and the man assumes it is him and doesn't see himself as being compared to the man she is reading about. The women on the other hand see what the man is drooling over and start comparing themselves to the girl in the picture or video and this is what upsets them.

I don't read romance novels I think they are stupid. I also don't like porn - so there.
