Lupus is more of an autoimmune disorder, not cancer. I do know a few people that have had it...a friend out in DC was even receiving a type of chemo to treat it. But there are varying forms of lupus and varying degrees. If you think you have it, you need to go to a doctor. Do plenty of research online as well so you can be well prepared when you go to the doc because if I recall correctly, it is not exactly the easiest disorder to diagnose.

Lupus erythmatosis is not cancer. It is a serious auto-immune disease.
Every cell type in the body can become cancerous. So there are more than 300 different kinds of cancer. And they differ as to symptoms, rate of growth, ability to spread, susceptibility of treatment (= % cure rate), etc.. For Lupus see a specialist as soon as possible.

"Lupus is a chronic (long-lasting) autoimmune disease in which the immune system, for unknown reasons, becomes hyperactive and attacks normal tissue. This attack results in inflammation and brings about symptoms.
Lupus is not a form of cancer. It is an autoimmune disease.
People with lupus are no more likely to develop cancer than are people in the general population... "
