Haha. I create my own thoughts. I create my own goals, dreams and my own determination to achieve these goals.
I too do not need the bible to guide me. No offense. I always believed that it is ME that I need to believe in and that it is ME that will make things happen for myself.

All humans think and reason and imagine for themselves, including the mentally handicapped. That slam was uncalled for, especially from someone who advertises him/herself as a thinker!
Yes, we are all in control of our own minds. Duh.
I accepted the evidence presented to me about God's existence, and had some experiences of my own. I am perfectly capable of weighing evidence and coming to conclusions.
You say you "don't need" a Bible to guide you. Then what do you use as a "moral code", ie what for you defines right action/wrong action? If you are relying on laws written and enforced by men (police, government, etc.) then does that mean, at that point, you are NOT thinking for yourself? Are you letting other people think for you? Gasp...
My point is, for most of us (non-sociopaths), we accept boundries in our lives from others: parents, doctors, legal aids, legal codes, driving laws, etc. This does not mean that we are "giving up" thinking for ourselves, just that we are recognizing the truth that LIFE DOESN'T COME WITHOUT LIMITS. To live in a civilized society is to accept that there are some limits on our actions, our behaviour. The sociopath does NOT recognize this, but only recognizes their own feelings, thoughts, needs, wants, and pain.
Theists go one step beyond the social moralist, and find an authoritative guide beyond the laws of men. This Guide is God.

Human thought comes from humans but we do not live in bubbles... Nobody creates their own thoughts totally on their own, whether you are involved in a religion or not. Our beliefs often end up being based on politics, peer pressure, social stigmas (like being religious), the media, etc. whether you realize it or not...
That is fine that you do not need religion but you shouldn't think less of those who do... "Mentally handicapped" seems pretty ignorant to me... God does not do my thinking for me just because I believe in him. Again, not very free thinking for a self-proclaimed free thinker...

We certainly think for ourself and not by God putting thoughts in us. Our thoughts arises because of our five senses. For example, my eye see an object, then my mind register that object and immediately begin the make judgment or preferences about it. This is the thought process. Of course if I was born blind and could not see object from birth I would never have any perception or judgment of anything, would I? The other four senses work the same way.

It goes both ways. We are our own spirits and create our own thoughts. We have agency and choose for ourselves to follow good or evil. However, we are also subject to inspiration or the spiritual promptings from Heavenly sources or demonic sources. You need to understand the dual nature of man/woman. We are spirit beings housed inside mortal bodies. The mortal bodies allow us to live on the earth and to learn by our own experiences the difference between good and evil. The spirit selves allow us to communicate with other spiritual sources when we tune in to them. When we get thoughts from God, it is called inspiration or revelation. When we get communication from the adversary, it is called temptation.
Learn the difference and you are able to successfully negotiate your way through life.

I think we all think for our self. Anyone that believes in God will tell you that he created us with free will. To believe or not believe whatever we want. If you are a religious zealot then it is because you choose to be. God is not twisting your proverbial arm into it.

God gave the human mind free will, therefore, we think on our own.He may have some kind of control over our minds (right and wrong) and ideas we had from early on, but ultimately you make the decisions in your life.

I believe that the Higher Power that created us gave us the ability and capacity to think and reason...what we do with it is up to us.
