Why do you want windows 3.1? 100% of the software that is available will not work with Windows 3.1. Plus I dont think that 3.1 will support any modern hardware, say, since the production of the 486 was stopped. It will more than likely not work with sound cards, video cards or any other new hardware, and deffinatley NOT USB devices. IF you want to get away from Windows XP or Microsoft in general, you can try http://www.opensuse.org.

All of the new Apple computers run a variant of the free BSD variants on the internet, and all the Apple computers in the last year I belive have switched to using Intel based hardware, and no longer use the Motorola processors, that put MAC where it is today. So why bother with a company that has lost it's identity, and sold out.

Also with Linux, there are emulators that can run some Windows applications, and there are applications in Linux that do the same tasks as the popular Microsoft ones do. And they are all FREE, and part of any distribution now days.

You can download a LiveCD from suse, that you can boot from and check out the OS without installing anything, so give it a try, I think you will be glad that you did.

Switch to Linux and you will never look back to windows again.

I don't blame you, but I don't know where to find the download. Try eBay. Or, if you're frustrated with windows, why not get a Mac?
