Traditional tanning holds many, many dangerous risks. You should never risk your health and tan under the sun. An alternative solution is bronzer. Please take care of yourself. You should never compromise health for beauty..

I highly recommend NOT burning yourself to a crisp in the sun. It ages you, and the more tan you are, the more sun damage, the more sun damage, you will likely have skin cancer. Use lotions than tan you and guarentee no orange, and don't over apply. I use Banana Boat Daily Moisturiser, it is a moisturiser that tans your skin over a few days.

If you mean self-tanning, mix the tanner with some lotion or use one of those new Jergens or Oil of Olay lotions with some tanner in it - better to go gradual then full on and orange.
If you mean naturally in the sun...you really shouldn't turn orange.

Use sunscreen regularly. Say every hour or so. After you get out of the water, always put on suscreen.
