Why must they go after everything they personally don't believe in and attack. I know I put this under immigration, but in all aspects of life. Homosexuality, immigration, interracial marriage, whatever the case may be is it really making such a strong impact on your life that you have to attack it and DESTROY the lives of others. Because thats what you do by reporting illegial immigrants, and shunning homosexuality and whatnot. Just live your life. Unless they are personally attacking you, why bother? God will take care of it all. Causing more problems doesn't help. Of course your entitled to your opinions, however when you put those opinions in such destructive and dramatic actions (like reporting illegial immigrants) it does not help the situation, it just causes more anger.

I'm not saying turning a blind eye to people getting raped. That is a PERSONAL attack. Whoever said that whenever an illegial immigrant comes into the country is a PERSONAL attack towards them is honestly very stupid. Yes you are right, they all come with the intentions to mess up YOUR life.

I am an American. I am also white. I'm not here to support "my own" because they are not my own, I am just making a point.

People love to try to control and imprison others into conforming to their whims and wishes. I refuse to bring my religion into politics, but I think the line, "May he who has not sinned cast the first stone" is secularly applicable. Until you're perfect, don't try to fix the perceived imperfections in others.

People are just living their lives. Defending ones rights and standing for what one believes in is a BIG part of living your life. Yes the illegal immigration movement is making a huge impact on my life and the lives of my people and my country. They have set out to attack and destroy my way of life! Why can I not fight back? Is this not part of living my life, to defend and fight for what I believe is right, to retaliate against what I see as a threat to my life. I take the illegal immigrants movements as a serious and personal attack, and that's why I bother. I don't really care much if living my own life causes more anger, the illegals don't seem to care either. If you are suggesting that to live my own life means I must sit back and let whomever do whatever to myself and my people, you are wrong and ask unfair things of humans. I am living my own life, for me, that means defending and standing for what I believe is best and right. If you want to live your own life, blind and oblivious to what is going on around you, that's fine and dandy with me. Do not expect or ask the same of me. Why don't the illegals just live their own lives, back in their own country? Where is the sense in your question? If we all did as you suggest, there would be total chaos upon this planet, no rule, no order. What you are suggesting is a regression of the human race, not a progression. Think hard on this young one. Living ones own life means many different things.

The schools are failing.

It sounds like your parents have enough money to have you in private schools. However, for those of us who also pay for the schools, and actually need to use them, the harm from illegal immigration is not theoretical. Their better life is very directly at the expense of our children.

Health care is in a similar situation, and we have been lucky, so far. So far, we have had the productive years of the baby boomers supporting services so the strain from 12 to 20 million people who shouldn't be here wasn't as apparent. However, the baby boomers are on the brink of retirement, will be moving to fixed or inadequate incomes, and will be relying on the services they spent all of their working lives paying for.

But those services are failing to support others who shouldn't be here.

Poor people take much more out in services (particularly education) than they contribute in taxes. That is why there is a law limiting how many of them can come to begin with. Why can't all the foreigners not legally permitted here go away and just let us live our lives?

They are making us pay for them, when our own people are doing without, or making do with substandard education and services. They are the responsibility of their own countries, not of ours. We have a responsibility to our own, and we need to live up to that responsiblity by making sure the funds we put aside for our own people are used for our own people.

When it was a smaller number it was a smaller problem. Now it is a huge number and a huge problem.

I live in Los Angeles and my children attend school here. Pretend you are a parent living in Los Angeles, and pick a school. Remember that the better the schools are, the more expensive the neighborhood is. Take a look at statistics on test scores vs. the number of ESL students (you can click 'achievement' to get scores, and 'teachers and students' to get demographics.)

P.S. I have no idea how homosexuality came into this topic, but I have no particular problem with gay people. They are typically pro-education, actually. I am in favor of that.

You know, it would be VERY easy to just live my life if my children weren't cramped in their schools because the school was only meant to hold500 and it now holds 937. It would be VERY easy if I could take my sick child into the emergency room and not have to wait 8 hours to be seen because the long line of illegals are in front of us. It would be VERY easy if when I leave something outside for one evening in my neighborhood, it would be there in the morning. It would be VERY easy if some of my friends and family were NOT replaced by someone who would work for $3.50 an hour, just so the boss could line his pockets. (this was almost a blessing, we found out just how the employers were), So you see my fellow thread(ers?) It would be GREAT if I could live my own life and not have to deal with these issues, Unfortunatly it will only get worse because anyone who has a different opinion is labled a racist. Believe me, If you WERE an AMERICAN and you had to deal with this on a day to day basis. Maby just maby, You would understand. I would never want to DESTROY someone elses life, but why is it ok if they want to DESTROY mine & my families?. If you say they just want a better life for themselves, ok. I want a better life for me and my family, should the police just look the other way when I rob the bank? Against the law is Against the law, isn't it?

Since you put this in immigration, I'm going to explain it from an immigration standpoint-- which you may not agree with, but oh well--

I understand what your saying-- and that is true to a point.
These people that have come here illegally have interupted another 'peoples' style of living. We, as citizens never once said you couldn't come live here-- we're just saying do it legally.

Because when you fail to provide respect to another 'people', you are disrespecting them. I understand that they're just here to live for that, 'better life.' However, there are other factors that are clearly visible, that their existence in America is far more than that-- IE: "MECHA", and "La Raza."

These people that are just, 'living a better life' just so happen to be stealing from all those of that other 'people' that are paying taxes day in and day out. We thought that money is going for our own citizens.... That was in fact the deal that the federal government offered us.

--So, in a huge way, I'm sure you can pick out why we're now on these people for coming here. Sure, it is fine to let people live... as they should do so through the means of legal orientation.. But, when you stoop so low as to affect another population of people-- specifically when that people is involved in another country, you are disrespecting them, and furthermore interupting those lives of that country.

These people can't seem to understand that, so we are forced to sound disrespectful.. You only get what you give. And though, they may not be doing this purposely-- which I highly doubt by the way-- the fact is they are commiting these crimes-- which is costing us legal citizens.

How would you like if I was just to just live off my life-- and come barging into your household.. Eating your food that you pay for, taking your clothes, sleeping in your bed, etc...

Are you going to do anything about it or are you going to welcome me to the rest of your belongings, and allow me to invite the rest of my family into your household??

Oh.. and by the way, if you put up a door on your house, you're a racist. (Referring to the insult we get for trying to put up a border wall).

Get the picture?

So, if we see someone mug an old lady, or raping a child, we should just go on about our lives and not worry about it because god will take care of it in the end?????????????? You are a naive idiot if you think that. My comparisons are valid too, a crime is a crime. Illegal immigrants are illegally here, that is a crime. Turn a blind eye to one law, and we will end up letting you get raped in the street and everyone will just turn to god and say "I am not going to ruin this rapists life today, I am going to let him rape that girl, but you be sure and do your job when the time comes, okay lord?" I mean, after all, that rapist isn't "personally attacking you". Right? Even religion has rules to be followed, I bet you do your best not to turn a blind eye to those, do you?

What do you mean by personal attack. I consider it a personal attack anytime someone comes into my country illegally. The U.S. is a nation of laws, those that intentionally break them are attacking me. Anyone who wants to enter legally I welcome. The only anger is coming from those who don't want to follow the law. For every action there are consequences, and if you break the law by entering this country illegally, there is a chance you will be reported and sent home. Don't want to worry about, or don't want to get mad about it, don't come here illegally.

Its just history repeating itself. This country has never liked immigrants. People are afraid of anything that different, culturally.

Thank you. I really wish people would do that as well.

Unfortunately, many people are afraid of what isn't familiar, or afraid of things they don't understand. Fear of the different is what drives people to attack and ostracize others. Insecurity contributes to that as well.

But wouldn't life be so much nicer if people were more tolerant of others?

I don't know, people get so obsessive about these issues and instead of enjoying life they go around angry all the time, harping about immigrants and gay people and whatever else.

Live and let live!
